i bought 'eat em and smile' and '5150' the same day at the same store in 1987.
i still listen to, and love, one of these albums for its phenomenal ground breaking
musicianship and the fucking awesome VIBE that it oozes. the other one got listened to
maybe 5 or 6 times, and is somewhere in the back of my collection.
perhaps a spamster would like a near mint copy of it????
they could take it to the gig and wave it around, and pick up a 46 yr old housewife.

I really get upset when I hear (again) Hagar saying that Van Hagar outsold Classic Van Halen. It's just not true. It's one thing to have confidence and be proud of your work. But, don't tell lies about factual stuff.

Eat 'Em and Smile sounded like nothing that came out in the year before, or after, its release. 5150, on the other paw, was such a MOR, inoffensive, Kumbayah-type of album...It had to be, because the Sam Halen boyos knew the fans would be skeptical. So they played it safe.
Further evidence of EEAS's superiority: my kid sister hated it, but loved 5150.

I have no idea why sammy says that about the albums sales. But all that I can say is that I dont think there is 1 fan of the hagar era that doesnt like the dlr era, therefore as fans of both eras, we bought all the albums, which alot of classic vh fans did not. Its all good rockn roll to me.

It's called Classic Rock magazine. Imported from the UK and found at most Barnes and Noble and Borders outlets. Costs about $8 an issue, but well worth it. Blows away Rolling Stone, Blender and Spin combined in terms of both photographic and article content.
