Van Halen Rock And Roll High School?

I keep Hearing they were thinking about putting Van Halen in Rock And Roll High school. Is this true?, If it is why did they chose The Ramones over Them. I mean think about it VH would had just finished doing two of their greatest albums, It would have made an awesome soundtrack, and I just can see Dave working out really nicley as a movie star. I mean I like the Ramones, but Van Halen would have kicked ass in the movie.

Well, I dunno. They had a spot as a guitar playing hamburger in "Better Off Dead".

That is about Ed's speed these days....soak beef pattie in bourbon, throw on the grill until lukewarm, add a guitar, play tape recording of Everybody Wants Some...and there ya go...

"Better Off Dead" was an excellent movie, though My 2nd favorite John Cusack movie, right next to "The Sure Thing". "The Sure Thing" wins out, though, because I desperately want to be on a long distance road trip with Daphne Zuniga back then and doing exactly that.

Um, anyway...yeah, Van Halen in Rock 'n' Roll High School would have fucking KILLED! Would have been VERY VERY awesome...love the Ramones, though, they did great.

Dave would have stolen the show, I mean can you picture all the rothisms he would use. I always thought for some reason CVH had kind of a Punk attitude, I mean they took no prisnors and they had that same type of attitude, they just would have been perfect for the movie, They had the right attitue everything. i still think The Ramones are, good . But I think if VH was in the movie, It just would have kicked major ass.

Well Rock And Roll Highschool was originally supposed to be Disco Highschool.

Roger Corman and his production team thought that rock and roll would make a better story and have more energy.

The Ramones were fans of Corman movies and they were asked.

Remember, back then VH was just out of the club scene in LA and were doing their first big tour at the time Rock And Roll Highschool was being filmed.

                Now, where's my DVD?

It was a killer movie, no doubt...I have it on cassette somewhere...along with about 250 other movies I haven't seen in the better part of 15 years
