SANTA CRUZ DLR SHOW WAS AWESOME!
Damn, you missed a great show last night, wish you could have been there. I had to see the legendary David Lee Roth. To my amazement, he was on fire, 150% vocally and PHYSICALLY in shape, and he still has the screams and yelps from the classic Van Halen days. He came on stage at 11:00pm and the show ended at 12:30am. I was totally impressed by DLR.
My friend just called me right now, and his new day after concert quotes are "David Lee Roth was in fine form!" "The perfect balance, true to form bombastic rock personality, and a level of not taking it too far" "matured with fine restraint" "He makes Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen look like complete idiots for not having him in the band" " I don't know how you do a whole show in a Bruce Lee outfit" "David Lee Roth is bigger than a club, he should be playing a bigger venue, although it was really nice to see him in an intimate setting"
The minute David Lee Roth stepped out onstage, he was on fire. He was wearing this black and white striped Bruce Lee outfit, he kept telling this woman and her daughter standing in the front of the stage, did I fuck your mommy? I've been traveling these parts for 21 years, your daughter has my smile, I think I fucked your mom.
Both my friend and I came to the conclusion that Eddie VH, and Alex VH, have their heads up their ass. I can't believe they don't get back together with DLR. They have to be the center of Van Halen, so they get a half assed talent like Sammy Hagar to front their band. Compared to Roth, Hagar is a clown, period. No competition whatsoever. Roth Rules. There is a DLR Army, there is no Sammy Hagar Army, just the Hagar Girl Scouts. Fuck Eddie, Alex, and Sammy.
I will see DLR again, anytime he plays at a venue near me, come rain or shine.Comment

Newbie here, I too was at the Santa Cruz gig, and it was my first DLR show. He fucking rocked.I felt his voice warmed up a bit after a few songs but otherwise it was great. To bad the stage was small I would of gotten kick(no pun intended) if he could of pulled a few more martial arts moves. I was also suprised the opening act was allowed to play so long but they weren't bad. I can't wait till he comes around Nor Cal again!Comment
