    Which Album Was A Better Followup To '1984'?

    A call out to all sheep in da Army house...

    After giving an HONEST listen to both '5150' AND 'Eat 'em And Smile' in it's entirety, which album would you HONESTLY say is the best followup, or continuation of....which one could more easily pass as a 'brother' to '1984'......

          ...and just likes that, 5150, Van Halen plus new singer Sammy, comes in with a BANG!!!!

          You know, I'm try not to be discuss VH, Sammy is good singer over David for awhile. But you have to ask us the honest question. I know David will win your voting but I'm just getting my vote in.

          I'm having nothing against to David. He is the first VH singer. The first tape I got was 1984 in 1984. I saw the "Jump" video and thought the band was cool guys. But 1984 the music like I'm discussing so many times on this site, well, I'm feel music from 1984 was very uneven and very hard to listening to all the way to the end. Some songs good. Some not so good. 1984 is a hit or miss. And the good songs are the "pop" style songs that Dlrarmy hate so much. And what is that introducing song? 1984? Even "Strung out" from Balance is much so better than that one.

          Now, 5150. "Hellllooooo-Baaaaay-beee!!!!!... U.S. primes...the grade is stamp guarantee!...grease is up...Turn on the heat!..." Wow! Sammy start his career like dynamites! From the start, "Good Enough" all the way to "Inside." The record plays like you are driving the fastest car with the biggest engine in the race. I'm don't think Van Halen could tops 5150. Everything is so just right. The playing. Eddie's guitar tone and sound, wow! Alex's drums sound too perfect. And as soon as Sammy starts in with "Helllll-lllloooo baaaaay-beeee!!!!!! you are so blowned away, you ask "David is Who?" No, really. You could love David too much but when as soon as Sammy's voice comes in, that instance second. It's taking no prisoners. Drive as fastest as you can. SAMMY IS THE VAN HALEN SINGER PERIOD. No question need to be ask. Even the arranging of the song order is perfect. This record have a smooth flow.

          To in this day, 5150 is my favorite VH record. I'm told this story so many times. But I'm having to borrow my brother's bike to ride two cities over to the next city to buy 5150 on a vinyl. Wow! Van Halen hit the toppest peak with 5150. And time has tell 5150 has stand the test of time.

                  1984 "uneven?" Oh contraire SHEEP VU-Doo! Uneven is the standard adjective to describe every VAN HAGAR album. The slow, monotonous JOURNEY-ESQUE love ballads...The guitar spiraling away from the cutting edge brown sound to the more redundant (and easier to play live) rhythm guitar riffs. Every VAN HAGAR album I've ever heard is uneven. And "When Love Walks In" makes me want to drive my car off a cliff whenever it (rarely thank God) pops on the radio.
