Nails it shut. Shortly after Roth left in 1985, we get bombarded with shit like Home Sweet Home that summer, then Van Hagar comes out 6 months later with When Love Comes Walking In. CVH inspired a slew of bands that Van Hagar ended up borrowing playbook pages from, hence the obligatory power ballad per album from Van Hagar.

I mean, I'm HOPING that that strategy was a result of Van Hagar following hair band trends, because to think of Sam Halen churning out that drivel on their own initiative is even more depressing.

Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Actually the answer to the original question is that Van Hagar has inspired many people to overeat so they look like Spambo The Lardass, and they have inspired many people to drink like fish, errrr...I mean like Fish-Ed Van Halen, and then they have inspired a lot of musicians who wind up playing the lamest bullshit ever foisted off on an unsuspecting public.

Ed has probably done more to inspire people to become drunks than anyone since, uh....well, since I dunno...name some famous drunks who have had more of an impact than Deadheaded Ed....

Dudes I have seen alter bridge 3 times and they kick total ass. They blow creed away. No more pussy stapp lead vocals. Myles kennedy is more powerful. It also turns out that guitarist Mark tremonti's main influence. EDDIE VAN HALEN.
