              I get the impression Dave leans to the side of public service and sees the value of government social programs...which can be very expensive...thus lot's o' taxes ...which Libertarian nor Conservatives agree with.

              the way I see it, the guy wants to be a Democrat in every sense of the word, he is just really dismayed at what he perceives as the reactionary stance the Democratic Party has taken towards the war in Iraq.
