    Someone showed me this quote.....

    ============================

"I spent easily $600,000 outta pocket. I spent the mortgage,
    literally."

"I saw those gigs as a way of finishing the film project," Dave
explains. "I said, 'Hey, we gotta go back to work, this project is too
good.' It took us about a year, 'cause I kept running out of money.
It's all first-class filming, not basement variety. Everybody I used
were people I worked with back in Van Halen. The art director did [the]
'Hot For Teacher' [video], the wardrobe lady did 'California Girls,'
and so on. These people have grown up in the industry as well. They're
first-class, and it costs like first-class. I had to keep going back
out on the road and make the next payment."

I want a legitimate source for that quote...but it won't happen, because some asshead made it up.
He did say something close to this. I can't remember exactly what it was. He did say he had to tour to make the next payment.

But that has nothing to do with wealth, it has to do with cash flow. Even very wealthy people don't necessarily have a million in cash sitting in a bank.

And does anyone think Dave's stupid enough to drain all his money for a video? So even if he has a few million in cash, doesn't mean he's gonna blow it ALL before going to work to make more.

Some people are fucking idiots. Yeah, Dave is broke so he blows his last money on a video.

Dave bought that house in 1983 or so. He said in an interview (which I think is somehwere on ths site); he was asked:

"Why did you buy that house". Dave said "Awww....for my dad". Maybe this was around the time when his parents divorced?

Dave's house is the house that his father once owned.

Dr. Roth could afford his own house, didn't need DLR to buy it for him.

If it's true, it explains why Dave asked Sammy Hagar to tour with him in 2002. Just the thought of Dave calling on Sammy to bail him out of a pickle is most disconcerting.

i have access to all the title info for any house in the usa through my work.... this is interesting for a david lee roth in passadena street on a street that i wont mention. perhaps this is him? it reads 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, over 11,000 sq. ft.

i cleared out some information, but from what i can see a David Lee roth in passadena took a 1.9million dollar loan on his house in 2003...

if the no holds bbq was 2000-2001, this wouldnt have made sense. the last loan he took out on his house was 1991..
Got beef with my comments? Blow me!

That's gotta be him. So if he was "broke" he certainly wouldn't be able to get a loan for 2 million would he?

well home loans are mostly based on the current value of your house...

as long as you make enough to pay the note each month and a little reserves they'll give it to you...

if he got a 1.9 million dollar loan at 6 percent for 30 years he'd have to pay about 11 grand a month...im sure 11g's a month isnt really a problem...

but the point of that was to show that he didnt mortgage his house to pay for no holds...that was 2000...he had a loan in '91 and '03
