    DLR remasters on best of

I dont own "The Best",but I know it is said on the back that the tracks had been digitally remastered, I'm sure that doesnt really mean much for the ALAE/YFLM tracks, but EEAS and Skyscraper tracks I can imagine would benefit from it.

so is there a marked difference?

You should buy these at once and make up your own mind.

I wish I had money to do that, but my finances are tight.

I own EEAS/Skyscraper/ALAE/YFLM and I dont think I'd justify buying best of for about £15 for "dont piss me off", I mean, especially if they hadnt remastered the tracks.

still..cant be as bad as the Ozzy remasters!(he butchered Bark At The Moon)

..Are you referffing to the ones where Sharon replaced Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake's parts? F*ing blasphemy.

no that was Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman..i dont even call them remasters.

on Bark at the moon, they remixed the tracks, changed the volume of instruments, edited out vocal effects, so all in all...NOT REMASTERED...TAMPERED.

but thats still 10 times better that the Daisley/Kerslake fiasco.

god imagine if AVH had done that with the CVH albums and overdubbed Hagar's vocals instead.

              exactly.

I went on ebay and got the 1995(untouched) remasters.

              FUCK OFF SHARON.

If you already have the four individual albums - and you're not in any rush to have "Cali Girls" and "Gigolo" - skip "THe Best".

The remasters are barely noticeable, and "Don't Piss Me Off" is far from Dave's very best. IN fact, I wouldn't even rank it with his worst. It's just there, you know?

Also, as far as The Best: Lots of great stuff was left off anyway - most glaringly "Damn Good" and "Nightlife". Why "Easy Street" and "Hot Dog and a Shit" are on there instead God only knows, but if I were Dave I'd cut back on the Washingotn Sq Park grass..

did you write the amazon review then?

yeah I know the list, no SUNBURN(ffs!!!!),Experience, Tell The Truth,Drop In The Bucket.

what does Big Train and Lands Edge bring to the collection anyway

and i've downloaded dont piss me off, and it sounds like a YFLM b-side.

I have Gigolo and California Girls on my Skyscraper CD, did they just add them on the european release then?

                        god bless the EU.

it adds something to Skyscraper which wouldnt be there otherwise(its in my CD player more often,in other words)

Sunburn is so awesome its pathetic that Lands Edge was on instead of it.

LMFAO!!! I think that's been Dave's one big battle in life, sweet wonderful drugs!!
I'm very proud of what was that band and what was that show and what it did mean to people. It disgusts me that it has turned into the complete opposite. That it now represents everything that I spoke against, that we suppoesedly represented the converse of. I don't want to have to remember that the team turned into that. Makes me question what the team was while I was a member. Was it all bullshit? If nothing else, it confirms in my mind that from my standpoint - yours truly, David Lee - not a fraction. If nothing else, this kind of morbid, wounded animal anger aimed my way has caused me to look deep into that bathroom mirror and come back to you with "my shit was legit." It was for real. And perhaps the test is time. Because here I am, a decade and a half later, haven't changed much. I look a little different, but not much. My sense of humour is about the same.

Actually, I think the remastering is noticeably better...especially on the SKYSCRAPER stuff. Also, I like DON'T PISS ME OFF. Good track.

But overall, it's just a good disc...a good beach listen.
