Those taking advantage of DLR's Name for their own success

I met a friend who personally knows Terry Kilgore, co-writer of some of DLR's solo material, such as "Experience" "Lose the Dress, Keep the Shoes" & "Sunburn" amongst many other great songs ..... Apparently, Terry grew up with DLR and the VH Bros. (according to my friend) and Terry is not too kind or fond of DLR (which I think is absolute crapola)....nevertheless, my friend was telling me some negative things about DLR that he heard from Terry, but the interesting twist is that Terry now has a website: www.terrykilgore.com in which his Home Page describes himself as the "Axe Shattering Success behind DLR". It amazes me that people with envy will cut someone down, but quickly use that person's name (in this case, DLR) for attention and possible career success to make a buck $$$ ?! Without DLR, Terry would never have had much of a residual check from Warner Bros.

I give Terry alot of credit for the songs he co-wrote with DLR...they are great tunes from the "Filthy Little Mouth" album as well as "DLR Band" album, but dude, your foot in the door was from your old buddy DLR....he gave you a break and he did it with sincerity... don't put him down and try to take all the credit. Jealously will get you nowhere You may have co-wrote these songs, but someone with genius had to do the delivery of them and hands down....DLR ROCKS on all these tunes!!! Don't spead negativity, Terry... you may need DLR someday, like your website implies...or else you wouldn't be using his name for your commercial success.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

Sad to read about Terry. I really thought it was Dave's best effort lyrically and spiritually, with Kilgore, I guess that's ego for ya!!
I'm very proud of what was that band and what was that show and what it did mean to people. It disgusts me that it has turned into the complete opposite. That it now represents everything that I spoke against, that we suppoesedly represented the converse of. I don't want to have to remember that the team turned into that. Makes me question what the team was while I was a member. Was it all bullshit? If nothing else, it confirms in my mind that from my standpoint - yours truly, David Lee - not a fraction. If nothing else, this kind of morbid, wounded animal anger aimed my way has caused me to look deep into that bathroom mirror and come back to you with "my shit was legit." It was for real. And perhaps the test is time. Because here I am, a decade and a half later, haven't changed much. I look a little different, but not much. My sense of humour is about the same.

Diamond Dave had no solo success with Terry Kilgore, maybe musically, but not in terms of revenue

perhaps this adds to the fact he was fired from the YFLM tour.

also, the website makes even Dave's look good

Axe shattering? I'd save that for Eddie, even if he's only breaking open bottles of wine. That guys site is tacky and gross.

          That is fucking stupid.

The guitarist behind Uncle Dave's Solo success is Steve Vai...not some unknown hack named "Terry Kilgore"....

yflm was a pretty good album, minus the new octave & blatant stab at every music genre in a desperate bid for regained stardom. there's some damn good tunes on there!

Bringing in Travis Jackson was a big mistake. Other than that, it's grate.
