How the fuck do you know he's an alcoholic? do you know him personally? I've never been to the rogan board. I'm not even sure what it is. is it the dude from fear factors site? I belong only to two other sites that deal with paranormal and ufo subjects 'cause I do paranormal investigations in my spare time.

ED has admitted he's has a drinking problem since the late 80's and was clean and sober during the final days of VAN HAGAR (when his playing was quite good). I've read more than one interview in which ED stated that he started drinking as a way of coping for his lack of social skills and shyness, but a "couple of shots of vodka" before the concert as a bracer for his nerves became a whole bottle before long...
He only admits this while clean and sober. But by his own admission, he is a drunk. I agree that people over-do the EDDIE's a waster thing here, but he is an enormous talent squandering it away.Last edited by Nickdfresh; 08-29-2005, 05:21 PM.Comment

If he is an alcoholic then so be it. BUT most of his music was created under the influence of something or other. I've heard these interviews as well but it does'nt make him some kind of boso and I dont think it's affected his ability 'cause when I seen them in cleveland he was tore up on something but he still kicked ass. he admitted to this in public......so that means he does'nt care what people think. and I don't think he's just wasting away. he's probably sick of all the bullshit that goes along with this buisiness.WIGGER STOMPER

Ed's a fuckin' dinkus. Sure, he had talent up the ying-yang far as guitar went. Then he decided to start throwing more and more keyboards on VH albums and write more and more cheesy pop-rock synth ballads. And it wasn't like it was phenominal synth playing or incredible ballads, either. EVH became one of the pack instead of a leader. Just got lazy with his success.
