I never said it would bomb in terms of the box office, and am not taken aback by the shows selling well. Of course Halen were filling arenas of 19,000 and larger when Roth was in the band 20 years ago as well.

Have always said there were plenty of fans with no discernable musical taste who would gladly shell out money to see Van Halen, regardless of who their frontman is.

Eddie just ain't getting a nickel of my money unless Roth's in the band, and I'll continue to scoop up boots from the years 1974-1984 as salt in Eddie's wounds.

I remember reading in a mag, I believe Hit Parader, Dave said something to the effect of "Sam appears to be a nice fellow that needs some singing lessons and a hair cut, Im not sure why Sam doesn't like me. But I know why I don't like him". LOL and that was before 1984 split. It was only fitting.
