I barely remember bringing this similair cuntmundrum up awhile back. I'm not a big fan of the rap....some of the old RUN DMC and Kurtis Blow....that type shit? It was a big part of the soundtrack of my ad-o-less-ance. You can't get that stuff no more, but I do think a Dave deal with somebody currently POPular would work if Rubin produced it. Like full-on Dave's take on the WEST COAST old school. If you don't think some dope-smokin' diddy with Dr. Dre would go over, you're out of your mind. Yeah, Dave likes the hip-hop.

Rap is an art form that has been lost over the last in recent times (kinda like rock 'n' roll). If someone handed me a strokes album and said this is rock music my reaction would be 'rock is shit !!!' (All other things being equal). If a GOOD rapper put their hand up it would probably be a great song. unfortunatlelly rap is now reserved for talking about their cars and gold chains, it ain't real intellegent these days.

Dave is any kind of music that he wants to be. :D

However, I do think that if Dave was going to get into this sort of music for his own performance... he would have done it while it was still new and fresh.

Somewhere in this thread Rap was referred to as an art form... and Dave could have contributed his own style to it. Where Dave is concerned, I rule nothing out. But at this point, I would say it is highly unlikely since he seems hell bent on running the same set list for the rest of his natural life...

But just for conversation sake. Does anyone have any good reasons for Dave doing rap? I don't listen to the stuff much... but it does seem about the flash. Dave likes flashy. It doesn't have much to do with the screams... and even if Dave can still hit them... they are not good on his voice. And mentioning voice... if Dave were to adopt a rap style, would it extend his career by another ten years or so?
