Best of Both worlds tour has begun

Well it's started. So looks like old Hagar, who's starting to look like Biden, is singing most of the songs a whole step lower now.
So the guy who supposedly can't sing, good old Dave, can at least can still do most of them in the original keys.
This is basically a Chickenfoot tour and it does not sound like Van Halen to me.
in fact, which group sounds better? Chickenfoot in disguise :

or these crazy guys in a tribute band:
Best Of Both Worlds Van Halen Tribute performs the 1984 hit, "Panama" in front of an enthusiastic Harefest 11 crowd in Canby, OR. Featuring @DannyDeane on ...

How'd you like to be Sammy's "brother," Vic Johnson, and realize that Sammy doesn't think you're good enough (pun?) to do this tour.

          Why even play CVH songs??

Lame attempt at "covering all eras". And I think I saw somewhere else they had the 5150 album cover blown up on the big screen I think when they played the song 5150.

Is Fagar even allowed to do that? Have the gay wings logo up on the screen.

Because he's a self absorbed capri pant wearing faggit.

The suckers going to this show are the same suckers going to see fake Foreigner, and going to see Journey, Motley, Def Leppard and whoever else, in a stadium. Facebook fags.

Apparently they massacred a grand total of 3 classic songs:Ain’t Talking About Love, Panama, and Jump.
Hardly a Best of Both Worlds.
There's no energy to the concert, it's a bunch of old guys doing Van Halen stuff.
As for Ain't talkin bout love, I think it's quite clear why Mike is a great backup singer but just an okay lead singer.

Hagar introducing Mike: "and he's the second best singer Van Halen ever had"

Yeah because Dave was the best lol.
Seriously first show of this tour and Hagar already talking shit about Dave.

I can't even be bothered watching clips of this stuff...

Like, I already saw Hagar do ATBL and Panama on the LWAN nearly 40 years ago, and Jump from that Live Right Here Right Now home vid in 199...2? Or 1993?

Point being I wasn't a fan of what Hagar did essaying the CVH stuff live 35-40 years ago when he was that many years younger and the Van Halens were playing the stuff. Thus, I already know it ain't gonna sound any better with 3 to 4 decades along with Joe Satriani and John Bonham's kid instead of Eddie and Alex.

Rock music died a long time ago. Even the early 1990's grunge craze was just a dead cat bounce.

It’s funny how serious Sam is when he promotes this disaster. This is all about Sammy trying to steal Dave’s legacy. He tried to recreate Van Halen so he can go out on top with the legacy. Yes. Sam is that delusional. Alex is smart by not only ignoring the asshole but by selling off some gear as a Fuck You!

Yeah, but Van Halen's 'legacy'...I mean, that's not something even the former members of Van Halen have any more control over anymore, really.

Whatever 'Van Halen' meant and continues to mean to fans of the band...I'd have to imagine that is something which by now is baked into the cake.

If it were actually a case of a person thinking, "well, I used to prefer the band with Roth, but Sammy Hagar toured more recently than Roth, therefore Sammy is going out on top"...fuckin' christ, that type of person is someone I'd immediately excuse myself from. Even the never-ending press bickering between Roth and Hagar, it's like, how old are you guys now? 70 years old or more?

That Foreigner band - which now doesn't even include Mick Jones anymore - is doing their second show in my area in less than a year. At a venue that seats upwards of 18,000 if memory serves.

Like, there's literally NOBODY in the band anymore that even as much as played on any of the albums which comprise 95% of the setlist, aka 'The Hits'. Yet without even looking, I'd be willing to bet the tickets are being priced upwards of $75 a pop or more.

Good work if you can get it, I guess. Still, though...Foreigner?

There's a lot of bands that are still going with barely any original or even more "definitive" members. Its all about $$$ for these heritage acts.

Judas Priest for instance are still out there but without the two guitarists who pretty much made the JP sound (KK and Glenn).

AC/DC has a new drummer and bass player. And while Stevie Young is still family he's not Malcolm. That leaves Johnson (not the OG singer of course) and Angus. Despite that they are packing stadiums in Europe right now.
