Good to see Dave back on the big stage.

I wonder who's in his live band now.

Mr. Big just had their farewell tour. Maybe Dave could call Sheehan?

But if I had to guess it's probably the same band that he had for Vegas shows.

Seems like Dave wants to continue in some capacity.
Doing the festival circuit is probably the best thing for him.

I doubt Billy would want to join if its not with Steve and Greg.

A good move for Dave is to actually have the EEAS band reunite for festival gigs this year considering Dave's solo releases are getting the remastered treatment.

            Wishful thinking.

                    Saturday:

Red Voodoo - never heard of them
Child's Play - never heard of them
Steven Adler - I'm assuming a setlist heavy with G 'n R ... minus anybody else who was ever actually in G 'n R. Pass on that one.
Slaughter - kinda liked a few of their songs back in 1990 or so, yet not nearly enough to ever want to see them play live.
Winger - what was the guitar players name back in 'the day' for that band ...Reb ...Beach(?): a decent hair metal guitar technician servicing some pretty mundane material. Nope.
Accept - now there's a band I actually liked quite a bit circa 1983-1985. Udo is long gone from the group I'm assuming.
David Lee Roth - am guessing - as others have mentioned - that his band will be non-descript, professional, competent yet forgettable musicians playing CVH tunes ...I suppose if somebody puts footage of the performance up I'll watch it, though I wouldn't want to put odds on my ability not to wince while viewing.

                    Sunday:

Spread Eagle - never heard of them, band name sounds like a porn title
Vixen - so, it's basically the drummer as the only one left from the original band, I'm guessing? Couple of decent pop rock tunes back in the late 1980's, not nearly enough to make me want to sit through an entire show.
Lita Ford - liked her first couple of solo albums, before that Kiss Me Deadly stuff.
Great White - didn't Jack Russell die recently? sounds like another old name act band currently comprised of people who were never in the band in their heyday.
Warrant - Jani Lane dead. I couldn't name another member of the band if I had to, though it wouldn't be a surprise to find out the current band - like Great White - is made up of people who weren't in it when the band was big circa 1988 to 1991.
Ace Frehley - love Ace. However, these days I'd sooner see him in a 1 -2,000 seat venue at reasonable prices because Ace Frehley circa 2025 isn't worth top dollar to me re: tix price.
I could imagine having some interest in seeing an Ace Frehley/Lita Ford double bill in a small venue for maybe $50 a ticket.
Stephen Pearcy and Warren Demartini Performing Ratt - am guessing neither Pearcy nor Demartini have majority control over the band/brand name to be able to bill themselves as Ratt without Blotzer's approval. Maybe if it were Pearcy, Demartini, Blotzer, Croucier and a name guitarist (like they did for a while with Cavazo) and a small venue situation for a reasonable amount of money. But Pearcy has sounded goddamned awful live for close to 30 years.

Nice to hear Dave wants to or is able to perform...

Even if that concert was local to me I wouldn't waste my time or money attending for any of those other artists.

Oh come on y'all bunch of old farts! LOL

Dave is a legend. Even though he is way past his prime in every category that made him famous to begin with at least he's willing to still give it a go.

And as I said earlier festival gigs are the perfect arena for him to get out there. No touring. Play some festivals and have a good time.

I think Dave needs to have a pre-show video package with everything from the CVH days, old interviews with his famous one liners, clips from his classic solo videos right up until the final VH gigs in 2015.

He can just ride on all that nostalgia to get the crowd going. He just needs to market it in a way that he uses more video. Other heritage acts do it. Dave should too.

Cause his current self in his old age isn't enough visually anymore. If he can't do all that acrobatic stuff then show old video footage of him doing it. Have it sprinkled throughout several songs.

If youre singing Panama, why not show some clips from the classic video?

As ZahZoo says, it is nice to hear Dave wants to perform and is going to be performing.

But, it's like, obviously he can't leap around onstage anymore. He can't scream anymore. Let's be honest ...he can barely sing in key live anymore. All of that maybe one can put to one side when he was up there with the Van Halens. Fronting a bunch of no-name professional rock musician schlubs who are trying to replicate CVH note-for-note?

I mean, if people want to see that, I hope they have a good time doing so. For myself, seeing that wouldn't be much fun. It'd just make me sadly wistful at this point. I'd sooner watch vids of him doing the Funky Chicken next to his black statue of a Doberman pincher.

Dave hasn't gotten out and performed in 5 years... maybe he's kept...er... gotten his voice in shape to perform better than where he left off. It's possible... one can hope he wouldn't just go on muscle memory alone. At his age... memory requires some exercise and good care.

And Mr Velvet... damn right we're old farts!! Get the fuck off my lawn!!
