Ray Luzier Officially with Army of Anyone

ARMY OF ANYONE: New STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/FILTER Collaboration Gets A Name - Sep. 29, 2005

FILTER's Richard Patrick (vocals), former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS members Dean (guitar) and his brother Robert DeLeo (bass), and ex-DAVID LEE ROTH drummer Ray Luzier, have joined forces in a brand-new band called ARMY OF ANYONE.

"The first musical experience we had," Patrick told MTV.com, "they came over to the little studio in my guest house and it was like Siamese twins — they had guitars growing out of 'em. Literally moments later, [Dean] was like, 'Yeah, I think I wrote something on the way over here,' and boom, it was like the most beautiful music I'd ever heard. Within moments, we'd written this gorgeous song and we looked at each other and it was just like, 'Yeah, this is where it's at, right here. This is what we want to do.' "

The song, titled "A Better Place", is set to be released on the band's debut album, which is slated to come out on Columbia in early 2006. The as-yet-untitled CD is being produced by Bob Ezrin, the mastermind behind PINK FLOYD's "The Wall" and ALICE COOPER's early hits.

The musicians, who knew each other from touring with their previous bands, also jelled on a personal level.

"We all knew what we wanted and where we were in our lives separately, and to me that was the first step in getting together and actually calling this a band, which is a big commitment," Robert explained. "It's one thing writing music together and going through those motions, but actually committing to being a band is a huge thing."

Seems like once again The Diamond One has contributed to the
betterment of Rock and Roll .

Not that on their own they arent self worthy and great musicians.

Its just nothing has split from Van Halen and gone off to create
Great music.Best of it to Ray and the Band!

                Yeah, the name IS interesting...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

                    Here are Ray's comments:

Ray Luzier: "As some of you know, I left the DAVID LEE ROTH BAND a few months ago to join an amazing new band with Robert and Dean DeLeo (STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) and Richard Patrick (FILTER). Being a huge fan of both bands, you can imagine how honored and pleased I am to work and create music with them. I've been dreaming of being in a band like this for years... I can't wait for everyone to hear these songs! We are in the studio now with legendary producer Bob Ezrin.

"I had a great eight years with the DAVID LEE ROTH BAND and would personally like to thank all of you for coming to the shows and for all the support. I hope you all check out the debut ARMY OF ANYONE record, it will be out in early 2006... I know you'll be more than pleased!"
                    Same ole song and dance...

It's about time someone is doing something out of that band.

I'm personally sick and tired of the Roth cover band horseshit.

Hopefully, everyone leaves Roth so they can pursue new material. Maybe Roth will wake up, and put out some new stuff.

There isn't a bigger fan on this site, and I goto every tour date close by--but for fuck sake--it's time to actually hear some new shit.

                          Good for you Luzier--
