And real fans are fans of the original band. Not just the band. The most fans you'll poll would be for Roth reunion, regardless of how this tour turns out..A Roth reunion would still do better. Thats just the simple truth.

Eddie, back in October 1996, trying to explain away why Roth wasn't gonna hook up with Halen beyond the two Best of tracks, said that he had to make music that pleased himself first, and if they had went out with Dave on tour they'd be living a lie.

In a way, I kind of have a grudging respect for Ed in not caving into the pressure to reunite with Roth, which is assuredly much greater than the demand for a Van Hagar reunion (Eddie grunts excepted).

But this is coupled with an attitude of not caring what Eddie wants anymore, because with Ed at the helm of the band, Van Halen has released material below their own capabilities in terms of both content and production standards.

I know iat would be bigger, and I would be all for it If i thought that it would or could work now. It just couldnt anymore. Too much shit back and forth. They were friends with sammy, none of them like Roth as a person. And dont tell me they dont have to like each other, that is dlr talking and its bullshit. Anyone in a real band knows that there has to be a unified feeling, and dlr is all about himself, not the band. The only reason dlr would want back in Vh is for himself, not for the fans or the music. If it was for the fans or the music, my guess is he would never have released Diamond Dave. He does what he wants.
