    Best live boot?

I've heard several Van Halen live boots here but none of them really sound too good (understandingly). I'm wondering what the opinions are of the best sounding boot is to save me some time. Can someone help?

Steer clear of the Atlanta '81 deal.

    Fucking horrible.

Bright Lights, Big Largo has it's moments.

I'm not exactly an authority on this stuff, you should ask Cato!

Best sounding boot I have is called Die laughing, the last show they played at the Pasedena Civic. I have it on LP.

Best video is any version of Largo, although sound is a bit better on some US Festival footage.

I wish South American footage was better quality both video and audio as shows were best of any

Sound clarity wise ?? I've always thought the pro-shot US Festival was very good...

        Largo '82 as well...

And I agree, some of those early shows in Pasedena sounded very good...

But then again, if you want raw Van Halen at it's best, even if not a full show, you can't go wrong with Oakland '81....

You can't go wrong with any of the Pasadena Civic shows from 1977.

          Talk about RAW!

Good tour, the next best was the 82 tour--Largo is a fine show.

I've always loved the interview at the beginning of "Sea of faces, oceans of beer."

                    Audio wise Pasadena Civic 1977.

I got a hold of it nearly 20 years ago and it's still my favourite.

well, upgraded version of Pasadena Civic 77 is awesome. I was very surprised at that quality.
but hey, you know, the best sounding boot is not necessarily the greatest boot, eh?

my fave is Live & Loud, but it's only a little better than average.

I still think the US FESTIVAL 1983 audio is the best, even if the band wasn't at their best...

The energy and festival vibe more than make up for the drunken mistakes and raspy voices...
