What's the surprise here? Sammy and the rest of Van Hagar have always lied to cover how great a band they think they are. Dave has never changed his story, ever!! Ed's an alcoholic and a lier, I have the guitar world interviews with him and the interviewer would ask him specific questions about songs such as what was used and so on, Ed couldn't answer him because he could not remember!!! Maybe because he was wasted all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sam, Ed and the other two were shitting their pants from day one in 1985. Explains a lot of the interviews they gave in 1986.

Ed I can see being pissed at Dave for splitting, and letting loose a few barbs in the press about it, because Roth was throwing a lot of media noise their way as well.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced Alex and Mike were just plain lucky to be in Van Halen in the first place. Al doesn't suck on drums, and I know Mike provided the meat of the background vocal sound, but when it comes to Dave those two should have just kept quiet.

And Sammy should have been thanking his lucky stars Roth bailed in the first place, because his solo career prior to 1985 wasn't anything exceptional in terms of sales. VOA did fairly well, but nowhere near as well as least-selling album in classic Van Halen's catalog.

All four members of Van Hagar can just keep their fucking yaps closed regarding Roth as far as I'm concerned until they can come up with some material that is in the same league as classic Van Halen.
