WOULD THERE BE A VAI, A SATCH, A RANDY, A DIMEBAG, OR ANY 80'S SHREDDER FOR THAT MATTER IF NOT FOR EDDIE? WHO WOULD HAVE LIT THE WAY? EVEN ZAKK SAID ED IS THE BEST EVER, PERIOD. THOUGHTS?
Question?

eddie set the ball rollin for those type of guitarists. If not for eddie, there would be alot less people who picked up a guitar one time or another.
On a different Note. Its just sad that the guy is alegend and he is pissing away his god given talent for some reason I cant seem to figure out.Comment

That's a tough question. I dont think the 80's hairband thing would've happened 'cause the guitarist would'nt have had no one to rip off. it would probably pretty much be like ted nugent kinda shit. I always say theres some guitar god somewhere right now tearing up ass on the guitar in some place that the music industry or us for that matter will never hear. will he be more innovative than eddie? I doubt it. I think technique has came about as far as it can. thank you eddie van halen.WIGGER STOMPER

One guitarist comes to mind. Shawn Lane. Too late though .He died a
couple of years ago. He was an incredibly talented guitarist/pianist/composer. Witnessed him mop the floor with Satch and Vai on NAMM weekend in Anaheim in '95 in an onstage jam with
them .
Check him out.

Eddie didn't really invent anything, but he made the guitar shredding and the guitar itself popular again. First there were the Clapton, Blackmore and ****** Hendrix. Then Eddie and Malmsteen. All the other guitarists have simply followed.
Randy Rhoads was also very innovative on guitar. Zakk Wylde relies heavily on Rhoads' work still today, for his style. As far as it goes for being drunk, Zakk got it straight from Eddie, no doubt.Last edited by John Holmes; 10-19-2005, 10:52 AM.Comment
