    Dave's book

I was reading the Reunion Blues chapter last night just to refresh my memory. I thought it was funny how Dave worded them going in and out of the press TENTS. When Edward started to talk about his HIP, Dave said he couldnt believe it that he hasn't seen the air sucked out of a press room like that. It just killed the moment.

Dave also said that he has never seen the press treat an artist like that. (talking about Eddie). When asked about a new singer the press just said BULLSHIT BULLSHIT BULLSHITT!!!!!

I wish I could have been a FLY ON The WALL that night.

my fav part is the reunion blues and the outdoor bashes. I also liked it when he retold days of smoking joints and listening to Bob Marley. Very cool.

          I'm so excited!

:D I just ordered the book through vanhalenstore.com and can hardly wait until the postman drops it off! It was Hell trying to go through a bookstore and order it. Borders isn't the hip bookstore they claim to be, the shitheads.

I've found the more you read the book, the better it gets. My fave sections are the ones about the inner workings of Classic VH, and life on the road. Great book to pick up at any time, no matter what mood youre in.

Reunion Blues is definately the definitive version of what happened those few months, because everybody else's stories has alot of contradictions. Definately worth the price of admission to read that blurb.

I've read it a half dozen times and it truly does get better every time I read it. Plus, it helps to set it down after laughing out loud one to many times at work. I've had a few people that were so curious I let them read the whole Halloween in New York circa 1986 story or the prep school "Annihilator" story. That is some funny shit! I've had several people borrow it and bring it back raving about it. A few of them really liked the way Dave explains why a band or artist can sell a million records and still owe the record company a bundle as well as the "lost in the Amazon" with dysentery story. Of course this is all besides the Van Halen portion and how the band made it etc. I've always known he was not your average rock star moron. But the way he shuts up the German reporter after he started the interview with, "So Dave, your jewish"? The guy who thought he was gonna interview some drugged out knuckledragger by quizzing him on the tour sponsor.
Classic Diamond Dave, every one of them!

Crazy From The Heat is a GREAT read if you're an old VH/DLR era fan like myself & younger fans with Dave ranting & raving about his life growing up, his VH days, as a solo artist & the reunion debacle.

I gotta go back and read it again...
Maybe this is what a heroine addict feels like after getting a long awaited fix, shooting up in the corner of some abandoned building and just not giving a fuck about what the rest of the world thinks...TATTOO"
