LOL ... does the DLRARMY have a BOARD OF TRUSTEES! One way would be to get everyone to dedicate a donation so we know when we have enough donors. Then when we have met our goal and can garrantee everyone wins we ask for their quarter! Teslas JEFF KIETH donated one of his GOLD RECORDS to HURRICANE RELIEF for ANIMALS! He put it for auction on E-BAY! The TESLA STREET TEAM is rallying to buy it and give the GOLD ALBUM back to him. He replied, in person, to the team and said he would rather one person buy the album on e-bay and the "TEAM" use their money they raised to donate also to animals in distress! That was cool! The team last I checked gather around $1200 in a few days!
Let's get DAVE that STAR he deserves! !! !!!DT

Exactly....whose got the computer savvy to do that ?? The meter is a great incentive of getting those numbers UP!

Question: How do you think we should go about actually collecting the funds? Bank Account ? Even if we try PAYPAL, we'll need someone to oversee it and keep it all honest.

My proposal would be to have a "Board of ROTHEES" to keep the honesty of it all.

If TESLA can do it, We can obviously do the same. I would even ask the guy who wrote the not-so-sweet article about Dave's Concert in the Orlando Sentinel to contribute since he got offended when I called him a VAN HAGAR Fan!! We might even get some press out of him!!

If people dedicate their contributions ... promise their payment, once we meet our mark we send out collection forms. Or maybe collection hentchmen if they don't fullfill there agreement! Is there a DLR ARMY WISEGUY? I read something about DUMPSTER GANG :p or something like that!?! !! !!!DT

WOW....I didn't even realize it, but thank you, DT !!! Joining DLRARMY was the smartest accomplishment of 2004 for me and I'm a Proud Member of this Elite Team.

I started thinking about the banner for the DONATION PROMISE METER!
I started thinking of a monkey climbing a palm tree ... more donations the farther up he went until he reached the coconuts! Then thinking DAVE is no monkey I moved to a mountain with DAVE at the bottom and as donations came in he made his way to the top! Then came the obvious! A banner the full length of the page along the TOP of THE DLR ARMY website. A sidewalk with Ed, Sammy, the bass player, that drummer ... eek, and maybe Charone all loitering along the curb. As the money comes in DAVE would be in his HFT car coming down the street splashing one after the other until he hops out at his STAR CEREMONY! !! !!!DT

Who'z part of the BOARD OF ROTHEES ???? Douglas T. came up with a creative Tally Meter that we would love to display on the DLRARMY HOME PAGE to get a Donation Promise from ARMY MEMBERS and raise the $15K to get DLR's Star.

Van Hagar has a star and we want to raise the funds for DAVE to get his. Anything you can suggest we do to get this off the ground???
