DAVID LEE ROTH To Appear On Bluegrass Tribute To VAN HALEN

Billboard.com is reporting that vocalist David Lee Roth will make an appearance on a bluegrass tribute album to VAN HALEN, "Strummin' With the Devil", due March 14, 2006 via CMH Records.

Roth sings on versions of "Jump" and "Jamie's Cryin'". Other VH favorites given the bluegrass treatment include "I'll Wait", "Hot for Teacher" (by David Grisman and Sons), "Eruption", "Panama" and "Unchained".

CMH has deluged the marketplace in recent years with bluegrass makeovers of everyone from AEROSMITH and THE ROLLING STONES to THE STROKES and BECK.

Not that I would buy the thing, but I'd rather hear Roth's voice than some shitty singer from a shitty bluegrass band.

Roth singing on this "tribute" gives it the appearance of legitimacy. This recording should not even be made recorded no less available to the public. Of course intellectual property laws do not prevent who ever owns the rights to these songs to forbid their reproduction but it certainly shouldn't be purchased by fans of classic Van Halen.

Then again, cuntsider that Dave knows it is cheese and he is doing it to take a stab at the sisters?

Dave is KEEPING the VH legend alive after all these years even though doing Van Halen classics bluegrass style is a little extreme it's still a good thing.

I love the AC/DC one. I'm hoping this CD is similar to them.
