Yeah, you'd know ... birds of a retarded feather.

Fly back to the links loser, this is a Dave site.

Not a Sammy site, not a Van Hagar site. Read the sign on the door as you slither away.

You talk about facts and trying to carry on adult VH conversation, you haven't done that since you signed up. Ally_Kat asked you a question in a civilized manner, yet you ignore it. That simply means your statement about adult VH conversation means squat.

It's been all about bashing Dave.

Why would you waste your time here, are you that lonely? Sad.

And looks like he isn't going to. He wants "Rothtards" to talk facts, but he doesn't.

He claimed he was leaving this place blah, blah, blah.

But here he is, averaging about 12 posts a day, at a Dave site bashing him.

It's the double standard exactly like you said.

The people that go to these Van Hagar concerts in the states would probably be just as happy to see Bonjovi or Brian Adams in concert so big fucking deal. Nothing wrong with that, but if Van Halen came to the UK they probably would not sell out any shows. We like Roth he has character and a sense of humour that you can't compare with this embarrassing excuse of a 'reunion'.
Btw enjoy all the sugar coated love songs if you go to see them.

Eat 'Em and Smile was just miles above 5150 to my ears.

Sure Vai was throwing in a lot of Eddieisms, but the music had more muscle and fire. Lyrically, what Roth writes is just more interesting than what Sammy can come up with. Just too many cliches from Hagar.

Sam sings in higher range than Dave, but that's about it. He has no low end to his voice.

Skyscraper was solid. So was A Little Aint Enough. Your Filthy Little Mouth was diverse, if not appealing to everyone. Vegas I can't comment on because I never heard any of the shows. The DLR Band was a great return to form. Diamond Dave.....well, maybe it'll grow on me more in time.

Van Hagar has 2 modes: power pop ballads and lumbering hard rock tunes. About the only tunes I can think of that went beyond that were 5150, Pleasuredome and Humans Being.

There's strain on Roth's voice now to be sure, but it's intact for the most part.

About the only thing I can agree on is Roth's current touring band has made the point in terms of playing the better known classic Van Halen songs, and it's reaching the point of overkill. That being said, Ray Luzier is shit hot and Brian and Bart do and did great approximations of Eddie.

If people dig what Sam Halen does, then by all means go see them and enjoy. Van Halen with Hagar never did anything for me. Roth solo still has plenty of tunes that get me off along the same lines that classic Halen did. Van Hagar has none.

It's thanks to Dave that people know of Van Halen. It was his idea to give the band that name. The irony is that if anything Van Halen owe David Lee Roth for the fact that they are so well known.
Look at early so called Van Halen interviews and it's all DLR. He was the only guy with real charisma.

You're absolutely right. Not that Dave was introverted of course, but the rest of the band WANTED him out there talking them up - because they didn't want to do it themselves "Aw shucks, i just wanna play" - then they come back later & bitch that he talked too much. And you are right about the charisma - he's what people want as a front man in a band - a loud mouth with attitude.

Oh you mean after the bullshit Eddie pulled about being back in the band, but lied to him so he would do the 2 new songs to help sell BOV1.

And why Sammy DIDN'T WANT to do seperate GH discs because he knew his would be outsold by Dave's.

But what I was talking about was why use all Dave-era songs in a promo for a tour that will not include this era in any way? It's sorta like false advertising if you think about it.

Point taken, Alley Kat....but should we really be that surprized that Van Hagar is using DLR era to boost, lie to and false advertise this tour. Unfortunately, it's NOT that big of a surprize.

Roth and Ed were just a great combination, period. Al and Mike had their roles, not unsubstantial to be sure.

Ed was such a riffmeister back in the day, and Roth brought the party to the records.

The thing that always pissed off Dave's critics is that they always bitched about how they thought he couldn't sing, and Dave just kept smiling.

Just the quintessential frontman. Had the stage moves down, confidence in spades....all he had to do to get a crowd yelling was hold the mike out to the audience. Largely responsible for the visual element people remember. Great, great scream, too. Wails like a banshee.

I'm sure if he approached the sisters with an apologetic attitude and was submissive, they would have gotten back together. But it's just not in Dave to do that. It was his over-the-top sense of showmanship combined with Eddie's playing that launched Van Halen in the first place.

Doesn't seem like it's in Dave's nature to sit back and let Ed and Al run the show and call the shots.

Even when they were recording those 6 albums, you could hear the good time Dave was having in the studio. You can hear laughs and sarcasm in his voice, like he was performing for those on the other side of the glass. On his VH stuff and solo. Killer headphone shit.

And I for one think Dave's singing is great because it's his own.

Growing up in Southern Cali is by far a great experience in it self. Chasing girls, enjoying good herb and listening to VH was just a part of life. Getting a chance 15 years later to work with the Diamond One was just incredible. He's the life of the party, he is the party and if you want to side with the Van Hagar so be it. The proof is in the puddin'. Van Hagar is basically Journey on malt liquor.
Eddie stop posting these silly messages. It's not that we're bitter losers, it's just sad to see good musician's make bad mistakes over and over again. If you mention Gary Cherone on this site or think of him singing any of Dave's lyrics you going to find your arm torn out from it's rotator cuff.
