Yeah, honestly...I deem it "unlistenable." "

"Finish What Ya Started" is the closest thing to a good song.

In fact, I can definitely see how DLR might want to croon out When it's Love or Feels so Good.

I think the real true spirit of the band is captured finely in these tunes. Finish What ya Started.....classic VH right there.

The Hagar-era CD I find myself listening to most lately is Balance.

I still prefer "5150"...mainly because it held up better than the other Hagar albums...At least for me anyway.

                "Balance" soundwise is excellent.

"The Seventh Seal" is the best one on that album.

One can hear the subtle influence of Bonham, Hendrix, perhaps Stevie Ray, and of course the undeniable echo (and almost the blessing) of Roth himself on that record.

5150 was great in that it was the first CD with Hagar. Had no idea what to expect.

And yes.....Seventh Seal absolutely fucking tears the place up. Great goddamned opening.

I was lookin through his cd collection - he had 1984, then the entire Hagar catalog. I said "Dude, you need to have a yard sale."

Then the inevitable Dave vs Fat Sam arguement ensued. To prove a point, I put OU812 on - Mine All Mine started and he thought it was the most rockin thing ever. There was obviously no reasoning with the guy.

A question for Hammy Fatgar fans: If Hammy-era's stuff was soooo good and soooo much better than Roth-era stuff (yeah right, whatever), then how come Van Halen themselves ONLY REMASTERED THE FIRST 6 ALBUMS???

Defense rests, your honour. No further questions, case dismissed.

Well, as much as I hate "fence" players, I'm definitely one when it comes to Van Halen.

True, I fucking LOVE VH with Dave, I still LIKE some of the Hagar era.

Your question about "remastering" is indeed a good one. I guess the only REAL reason they did so at the time is because Dave was poised to join the group again at that point.

I guess now they'll soon go for the Hagar era.

On a sidenote, I really didn't think "Fair Warning" needed to be remastered. It was by far and away the loudest mother fucking Dave era album out there, and the best!

That being said, I'm not sure how they could remaster "Balance." It's a loud fucking CD also.

How much crack do you need to smoke to think that? It's crap even by Van Hagar standards. It's sad what drug addiction leads people to. I think that guy needs treatment.

0u812 is one of Van Halen/Van Hagar worst album of all time.

I am debating over 0u812 or Van Halen 3 being the worst VH album of all time, but 0u812 has "Finish what ya started" the worst songs of the worst songs of all time!!!!!

You can bet that song will be included in the song list for the Van Hagar reunion tour.
