i guess around VHII or WACF Tours

Did he always speak as fast like he does ?

LOL!!! Go buy the "Early VH Years" DVD....the roadies who knew the guys before Hollywood claimed them say DLR was ALWAYS DLR....same personality, he was always the fast talkin salesman! Even AVH was intrigued by his sense of confidence...that's what he says in that video as well.

I have some old club days shows and Dave rattles off lots of one-liners.

The funniest, IMO, was from Gazzari's (1977? I think) when he is trying to get the crowd up and he tells them that they are going to have hemroids if they don't dance :D

In one interview, he said that he has came home shining like a Diamond after hanging out on what his parents called "the wrong sideof the tracks" as a kid in High School. Thats where he got his name.

But Robert Plant and David Lee Roth are two completely different frontmen.

I dont feel Dave was ever ripping off Robert's style cause Dave ALWAYS has his own style.
