Dave is not crazy about Gene.....had to do with the inception of Van Halen. Gene wanted Ed in KISS....didn't acknowledge or welcome Dave in any other regard.

dave actually pretty much said kiss sucks today. he said something like their songs were all crappy so they had to put in good guitar solos to save the songs

Actually, the eddie story is edward wanted to leave Van halen during the Fair Warning record and Gene told him to stay in Van Halen
This was while Kiss was looking for a new guitarist from what I have read

Yeah, Dave doesn't seem too fond of Gene, agreed.

Have heard a couple of versions of the "Gene swipes Ed for KISS" story. One was that Gene wanted both Ed and Alex to join the band in the late 1970s when problems with Ace and Peter were arising. Has only been fairly recently that the rumor of Gene advising Ed to stay with Van Halen in 1981 started coming out.

I must say, I hate Gene too. I actaully wasn't that big of a KISS fan, and I hate that show they had on VH1 with Gene, uhhh, Rock School or something. And he was a guest panel on American Idol last year when he doesnt even sing like they want their competitors to sound like. It'd be an interesting show, but what the hell would they talk about?
