    Thoughts on Don Landee

Wonderin what influence this guy had on the band. He engineered the albums and became very tight with Ed. I also think he may have been the wedge drove between Edward and Dave to a certain extent. He encouraged Ed to follow his keyboard aspirations. He also helped Ed build 5150 - and look how that turned out!

I remember reading Ed say that if Don wasn't in the picture, Van Halen would be "harder". I seriously think this shit head nurtured Edwards affection for love songs and made the bed for Ed and Fat Sam to write all those sappy tunes.

Then again, this was the guy who stayed up all night to re-record the guitar parts on Fair Warning.

Any thoughts on this guy? I think he may have played a bigger part than has been let on...

When Ed said "harder" did he mean more difficult? Meaning that Landee was easy to work with?
