Lets look at this from a LIVE performance standpoint. Jon Bon Jovi is 100 times the front man that Spam ever was or could be.
Jon Bon Jovi has given way more to a rock performance that Spam ever has or ever will.
Jon has always been about the fans, Spam has ALWAYS been about the money.
Jon took his own New Jersey band from nothing to over the top (Runaway was a hit before Bon Jovi THE BAND even existed) and became one of the worlds GREATEST Rock Bands.
Spam tried to ride the coat tails of success he had nothing to do with, thanks, next quarter please...na fuck it, game over for you Spam Loving Cock Gobblers.
Van Halen gave up the title MIGHTY the day Dave walked out.
So, before you go slamming Bon Jovi just remember that Dave was the one who handed the torch over to them, Spam Hagar tried to steal it but sorry, guitar riffs couldn't do that alone, especially when you had a singer who sounded like his balls were stuck in a wood chipper.

Bon Jovi have the edge over Van Hagar.
Mainly cause they have integrity.
Van Hagar compare better to Spinal Tap,
(changing singers vs changing drummers) although 'Tap are at least

I'm not a big BJ fan but I have to give them some props...saw them live at the 1986 monsters of rock and they were second opening band. slippery was not out yet and only a few of the audience in germany knew something about him at all (I had already cable at that time and knew the early vids)...then you need to know that "posers" were not that welcome in the german fanbase and I thought they would give him a hard time...
when BJ came out the response was like ice age and then this fucker started to fight and sing for his life...and he got the crowd going, really going...the following MSG was blown off stage...so he wasn't that pussified in his early days...van hagar started off as a pussy band with"why can't this be love"Roth Army Icon

The way Jon Bon Jovi is slagging off The Darkness now is the exact same thing that Spammy does to Dave. At least Van Hagar play 1 or 2 good songs when they play Dave-era stuff (bad versions, but good songs), but Bon Jovi just deserve to have their heads amputated.
