I can't stand Spammy's voice either. When he sings it is like sombody is chucking razor blades into my ears. What I was saying was that Dave's voice is at a lower end then Spammy's. In the Roth era VH Ed and Mike tuned their instruments down a half a step to accomodate Dave's vocals. In Van Hagar they tuned their instruments to standard tuning and Spammy's voice was also higher in addition to this.

I talked to DAVE when this 3rd attempt was taking place and he was really frustrated that things were going very slow. Probably has nothing to do with VANHAGAR. Him not singing that shit is a given at this point.

Personally unless Mikey is producing some kick ass background vocals I would otherwise prefer that he shut the fuck up.

I was surprised that hagar sang some of dave's songs but hagar has been used to that for years as he came after dave. Dave shouldn't have to sing hagar songs. Just like Hagar shouldn't have to sing cherone songs, but hagar should have to sing roth songs because they were before he came into the band. Now cherone better find a job soon

In any event, I would, reluctantly, sit through dreams or something with Roth on vocals, if it meant 2 hours of solid CVH tunes, yanno?

Of course, don't get me wrong, I would MUCH rather hear all CVH songs, as I never got a chance to, but say in order for a CVH reunion, Roth HAD to sing like, 3 Hagar era tunes, would you go for it?

Probably..... which is ironic because Van HALEN actually played Montrose songs in their club days.

I'd prefer not to hear cheese ballads at all, but if Eddie insisted, and Dave agreed to it, they could always have bass player sing that shit. Just as he sang "Somebody Get Me A Doctor" on the VDIII tour. Apparently Cherone was afraid to touch that one.

I'm so tired of that range-shit...range doesn't mean to screach on one high level. hagar has a strong high singing voice, true that, but he has no "range"...there is asolutely no amplitude or variation...

and I said it before...pavarotti is fat, has a higher range and is sporting a goatie, too...but I don't want him to front VH either...
