In 1985 did DLR quit VH or was he fired?

I always heard that he quit because he wanted to make a movie called "Crazy From The Heat" When the band said they wanted to make music not a movie Dave walked. Is this true or was he fired?

Ed and Mike were ok with the movie idea but Alex rejected it.

Alex said "I am a musician, not an actor". Yeah, some musician... more like a divorce addicted alcoholic... but anyway...

So Alex is the main reason Van Halen broke up.

Many quality bands had done movies including: Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Who etc. Why would it have been a problem for Van Halen to do a movie? Obviously it would have been fine for Van Halen to do a movie.

    So then Dave walked.

    But it is Alex's fault.

Perhaps Alex felt Dave had too much control over the band and this was Alex's way of rebelling against the master.

In his book Dave said he wanted to make music with VH brothers but they were struggling with alcohol and the music that existed was mainly melancholic power pop ballads...so he left them after tearful discussions with Eddie.

Yep, 5150 was probably already written before Dave bailed. He heard that lame ass shit and decided to flee the sinking ship.

general herpes...same advice that I gave to L.S.D.:
try to improve your reading from spammy lyrics (woo...yeah...love...wooohoo...) to finished sentences, get a copy of dave's book (and someone to explain it for you) read it and even you might see the light...

Dave wanted to record, The Band wanted to take time off and stay fucked up. Dave decided he would threaten to leave to get them back in the studio and they called his bluff and he walked out.

Plain and simple, this is from his own mouth and the rest is Van History...or garbage, however you wanna look at it.

Isn't it ironic that Edward claimed the same argument when Spammy got the boot?
They wanted to work and Spam wanted to jet set across the country fucking his little she bitches while his wife was home, pregnant.

Valerie even chimed in on that subject.

Why are you people even discussing this thread from Hina? If this thread was written by someone else, Hina would wait for a few responses and then come swooping in and explain how stupid their response was.

He just looks for opportunities to slam people. Find a thread from someone not looking for trouble

Roth quit. Even the most avid Red Troll Lovers and Eddie Grunts can't deny it.

Reason? Eddie Van Halen lost his edge.

I've read dave's book. the guy can't form a complete thought. that book is a mess from start to finish. It's just dave using the same 5 soundbites he's been using for 30 years stretch into a very boring manuscript. I can see now why his movie never saw the light of day and his music career is in the dumper.
