As for me, I get it...and it sucks!

Dave should not have to do this kind of shit to prove anything.

CBS put him in this fucked up position of "damned if I do, and damned if I don't"

Dave was doing great, improving with each show.

Ahh, eye sea...anyway, she's Kelli Williams, and quite the delectable little morsel, yes...

I almost wouldn't do her in the butt because I would hate not being able to see her face while enraptured in coitus.

NOT my sister, and your anal lust for her is completely acceptable, so long as you acknowledge the fact that I'll eventually marry her and spanking to her mental image will forever more be off limits.

Gee, I wonder when CBS will force Adam Corolla to "play ball?" I mean, maybe he is already, but then again, his ratings are still lower.

Fucking radio guys. Oh yeah, this kind of shit why I never went into the biz© even after interning at two Buffalo stations. Boring, uncreative, formulaic whores --all of them! They do not know what the fuck they're doing. We will all be paying for radio soon because these corporate whores ruined it...

I've stopped listening to Dave's show for 4 or 5 weeks. Been reading the "Play by play" thread to keep up, but I've grown fed up with it...
Not that I no longer consider him like I have since I first saw CVH on TV back when I was 8, no, he's still the one performer who'll always be sitting in the throne...
But, even though he surely wished to undertake this show in the beginning and probably still does, be it for his pals to get paid or his own pride or both, it isn't what he should be doing, I believe.
Dave, if he is not to be on tour, should be acting on stage or in studios. Apart from a few of us and some other listeners who made it when calling, I think that, though he managed very well, Dave is wasting his worth with other callers who sound like he is nothing but another speaker who makes it work between fucking ads.
Shit. That profession even kept on bashing him... This is good news to me, because all those radio cunts are crap IMO. They do nothing but send what the average sucker expects...
David Lee Roth stands miles and miles above all that shit. He is an Artist, not a sales whore. That's why we love him here. So, in retrospect, it was a wrong move. There is and always will be one Diamond cut like Dave, and such a singularly stellar character should not mingle with mediocrity.
So, fuck radio, Dave. No more compromise, brother, please.

                      Exactly!

If this is the norm next week, then it's Dave's fault, not CBS. It's Dave's personality that makes the show, not boring B. Young, or illiterate Animal, or incessant annoying background noise. He can still have a great show if he wants to. It's up to him.

                        Good points...

And Dave wants that contractually guaranteed $8million in turn for not working in radio for two years, if he's fired.

Dot your "i's" and cross your "t's" Dave, and make sure you have a fine legal staff.

Mail it in for as long as you have too four hours a day, and do nothing more than what is stipulated contractually. Then the suits can insert those boring Elvis and Anthony, or whatever, retards for the local clone-ZooMorningFM© effect...

Yeah. Make them spit out the money, Dave... May all of them radio jokers be on a low budget in the next few months. They've got too much for the dung they sell anyway.

                            No shit.

If he does EXACTLY what they say, the ratings will fall through the floor, and the cocksuckers at CBS will have no legal grounds to stand on should they fire him.

They are expert at fucking themselves.

Why should this scenario be any different?

I wish someone would seriously fuck those suits up.

                              Talkin' New York--Bob Dylan

Leaving the towns I love best

Thought I'd seen some ups and down

'Till I come into New York town

People going down to the ground

Building going up to the sky.

                              Wintertime in New York town

                              The wind blowing snow around

Walk around with nowhere to go

Somebody could freeze right to the bone

I froze right to the bone

New York Times said it was the coldest winter in seventeen years

I didn't feel so cold then.

I swung on to my old guitar

Grabbed hold of a subway car

And after a rocking, reeling, rolling ride

I landed up on the downtown side:

                              Greenwich Village.

I walked down there and ended up

In one of them coffee-houses on the block

Got on the stage to sing and play

Man there said, Come back some other day

                              You sound like a hillbilly

                              We want folksingers here.

Well, I got a harmonica job begun to play

Blowing my lungs out for a dollar a day

I blowed inside out and upside down

The man there said he loved my sound

He was raving about he loved my sound

                              Dollar a day's worth.

After weeks and weeks of hanging around

I finally got a job in New York town

In a bigger place, bigger money too

Even joined the Union and paid my dues.

Now, a very great man once said

That some people rob you with a fountain pen

It don't take too long to find out

Just what he was talking about

A lot of people don't have much food on their table

But they got a lot of forks and knives

                              And they gotta cut something.

So one morning when the sun was warm

I rambled out of New York town

Pulled my cap down over my eyes

And heated out for the western skies

                              So long New York

                              Howdy, East Orange.

                                David:

You are a person with a track record in music that cannot be denied. Your affect on millions has been documented, and can only be described as an enjoyable experience. But you now sit in an environment that is quite different and requires an adjustment, which is within the power of any talented, creative person.

Although the execs at CBS Radio don't have a track record on providing good radio, a few points that were mentioned on your show this morning do hold promise. Getting rid of all but Hutch starts the rebuilding of a shaky foundation laid in your first two months on the air. Reason: Whether your loyal fans admit it or not, your future depends on radio ratings that have shown to be dismal, at best.

                                Side note to DLR:

You have every right to ask "who is this guy?" Keeping the answer short, I have:
nearly three decades of involvement with radio - on air, production, management,
spent time in Muscle Shoals, Alabama recording studios (in the 70's
when it was the "hit recording capital of the world"),
created hundreds of full-length radio programs,
                                created over 10,000 broadcast commercials,
...and, am a constant critic of what commercial broadcasting has become.

                                Good luck.

P.S.: Don't read me the news. Tell me the news.
