Back around the turn of the new year, I first found this site and predicted on it that DLR's lack of talent would have him shuffled out of this play-radio gig within six months. I want to apologize. Look's like it'll be within FOUR! Saddle up, boys and girls. Diamond Dave's headed for your local 500 seat club by the end of the year. The question is: will those club dates be as poorly attended as his radio show has been listened to...? Time to swallow your pride, Dave, and open for the future reuniting of Extreme? I'll be the first in line: love them train wrecks!

My first comment to you is: What took you so long to find us? Did ya get lost along your way to "ROTHARMY" ending up in Bum Fcuk Egypt or did ya forget how to route your journey using the Mapquest feature? I think you left your brain under the Saddle, "Boy".Originally posted by il_es_douche

Roth's Radio "GIG" isn't over until the Fat Lady gets a hoarse voice (in this case, "She" is CBS and no, she can't sing)...Dave is not a quitter and he's got legitimate reasons (contract) to stick it out, if he chooses to.
Whether DLR decides to perform in a 500-seat capacity Casino, 1000-seat Blues Club, 20,000-seat Arena, write a song for a terminally ill child, write a second autobiography entitled "Tao of Dave", make an appearance on a new episode of the Sopranos, the ROCK LEGEND will Prevail, being Successful at ALL OF IT.
And let me remind you, in case no female has ever mentioned this to you before.......... It's not the Size of the Venue...it's the Quality of the Venue. Get a clue - you should rehearse this phrase, especially after you shower.
Perhaps I should review your Successful Resume? If it reads anything like your Profile, you seem to have a difficult time naming your Favorite VH Song...if this is burdensome for you, how can you possibly expect to use Mapquest to find your way thru life?

I've seen Dave perform at The House Of Blues in Vegas. I would go 5 nights a week if I could. So if the radio thing doesn't pan out, I'd welcome him with open arms playing smaller venues.
Hell, maybe if the radio thing ends, CVH will finally get it together 1 last time. I truly doubt that they would play anything less than capacity crowds at huge venues.“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. I saw him at House of Blues in the Mandalay Bay Casino in Vegas in January of 2000. I snuck a couple photos from a disposable camera. I'll try to post them up later tonight. I loved the small venue. I could see the drops of sweat on his forehead, and almost feel the breeze from his helicopter kick jump. NICE!“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. Again with this?
Jumping Fucking Jeezus H. on a Popsicle Stick!!!
Don't any of y'all get tiyed of hearin' about Dave only playing to small crowds? Fuck, as if we all don't get it? Half of these TRUE sheep that post said bile ALWAYS say that us (Rothfans) are "living in the past."
No, we're all just lifelong fans of Papa Roth. We all get it and we hang. Dave's nostalgia and so are the rest of the bands of said genre. Same goes for 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's icons that once sold out stadiums. However, it's not mainstream nowadays and I thank the good lord above for it.
At least Dave still does play gigs (no matter how small or large they might be,) Why? Cos it's in his blood, he's a performer and loves doing so.
What should he be doing? According to these dimwits, he's apparantly supposed to stay in his house, repent for quitting Van Halen and do nothing else?
BTW, what has or does Edward Van Halen do nowadays?
Fuck, wasn't he the one that stated in '85 (when Dave quit) that HE (EVH) was the musician and Dave was a "star?" He claimed that's what separated them. The point being that Edward would ALWAYS play, even if he ended up as an old man playin' infront of twenty people in a club somewhere. Whilst (according to Edward) Dave's "ego" would NEVER do such a thing cos he doesn't have the passion and love, etc.
Well, flash forward a cupla decades and who's doing what? Small crowds or not, which one of the two 'tis still out there, pleasing his fans and enjoying himself? It sure isn't Edward now is it?

I was watching this bizarre thing on "TVLand" last night featuring a concert by the musical prodigy that is William Shatner....Originally posted by il_es_douche

I think he had a song that went something like:
Has been
Has been
You talkin' to me?
You talkin' to me?
You callin' me, has been?
What'd you say your name is?
Jack
Never done jack
Glad to meet ya
Who's your friend?
Dick
Don't say dick
Whaddya know?
And you friend, what's your handle?
Don
Two thumbs Don
Riding on their armchairs
They dream of wealth and fame
Fear is their companion
Nintendo is their game
Never done jack and two thumbs Don
And sidekick don't say dick
We'll laugh at others failures
Though they have not done shit
I've heard of you
The ready-made connecting with the ever-ready
Yeah
The never was talking about still trying
I got it
Forever bitter gossiping about never say die
May I inquire what you've been doing mister?
Jack
Never done Jack
And you partner, what's the News of the World, Dick?
I don't say dick
Don, of all the people you must be the Tattler
Two thumbs up
What are you afraid of?
Failure?
So am I
Has been implies failure
Not so
Has been is history
Has been was
Has been might again
--WILLIAM SHATNER
By the way, if failing is getting a substantial portion of an $8million contract, from a network that's tanking everywhere anyway, I wanna' fail like that!!
BTW, lil'AssDouche, who is your money on? Are you one of those O&A fans, or is it Howard that you're bitter you can't hear without a subscription?Last edited by Nickdfresh; 04-02-2006, 05:38 AM.Comment
