guns and roses did not open 4 dave but they were schedualed 2 open 4 roth in 1988 but they backed out at the last minute....4 this place 2 b called roth army?,,if anybody says guns and roses opened 4 dave than they will b lieing cuz it never happened and poison opened 4 dave that tour.

Wow. Stryper reference. I saw them once in 1986. They threw mini bibles into the crowd. I only really liked/knew 2 songs...Soldiers Under Command & Reach Out. Soldiers had that great guitar opening. Talented band. The Christian thing just didn't work back then like it did for Creed.

I believe Faster Pussycat opened up those dates that GNR backed out of, not Poison.

notes: This was the 1988 Monsters Of Rock Festival. It has become an infamous show beacuse two fans were killed during the set. Between the songs, Axl tells the crowd to calm down. The B&W footage used in the "Paradise City" video was taken during this show.

I think from memory the running order at that show was

Megadeth

I think on the other shows on the 'tour' GNR didn't play and Roth was above Kiss on the billing.
