He should be sitting next to Simon Cowell. Better than Randy with his "Yo dog, it just didn't work for me". I'd love to see Dave as a guest judge just to hear his comments on each performance.

Cool...better than the Leno bit. Dug the vibrato. Voice sounds strong and The Man looks to be in fine shape!
        Can you feel it ppl?
Things are starting to heat up again and all it would take is one phone call, a month in rehab, and a little of the old forgive&forget...

I think it really might happen! :D

          Fuck Simon Cowell.

Corporate pansy asses like him are destroying music.

You think he would have signed The Beatles, Bob Dylan, or the Rolling Stones?

And he would have told the Beach Boys "Great harmonies, lads, but the bass player's gotta go. He looks like he could snap at any second"

Dave would be a definite improvement over the Big Dog. I'm not disputing that. It's just that the whole performance was unedifying. Big ups to you Binnie for the eloquent reply.

                About 1:54 of the video.
Yeah, Dave's amazing range easily covers 12 octaves.

                  Exactly!

He is touted as a super successful record producer/manager but every single thing he has ever been involved with has been the lowest trashy, crap, here today gone later this afternoon vacuous garbage.

He doesn't create or sell anything with any artistic merit, he sells the background music of the masturbation material for each years crop of 14 year old girls.

                        1) Thanx a lot, WARF.

                        2) The band play damn well - i.e. the banjo player renders the synth solo so skillfully - those musicians really make it.

                        3) Dave himself really seems to be getting his kicks out of it. It's good to see him still shining like he is.

                        4) But... what if we'd had a time machine in 1984 and had been able to see this?
Anyway, being dedicated fans will make the song sound great, because it's Dave singing, and he makes it his heart out like he always does.

I remember saying that I would follow Dave whatever he did, even if he sang folk with just a blind harpist and an accordion playing along... It's not what I dig him doing most, but I still feel like supporting him just as much as ever.
Anyway, this blue grass cover is only casual, isn't it?
As long as Dave has himself some fun...
