Apparently, I'm very naive. I honestly thought that you read well. Apparently not. If you can make the above statement(s), you're either tunnel-visioned or illiterate. Which, by the way, isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're a Van Hagar fan. That would make you a lot more intelligent than the rest of the herd.Originally posted by General Hina
So you proved my point. You didn't like VH with Sammy, you didn't like VH with Gary.
You only like DAVE!!
You don't like VAN HALEN.
Over and Out,
General Hina
PS: I actually think VH III had 3 great songs. The Gary comment was a joke.

hina, you always pick on spelling.
you cannpt keep doing that . there have been so many cool posts in this
thread, none of them yours.
al in c, bt, and pojo are making sense.
tobinentic is on to something. this band (spam hagar) does not deserve to wear the
mighty =vh=
name. cause it is not the same band.
you, my friend are like the poor drunk uncle at the family re-union.
everyone says 'oh isn't uncle hina funny?'
but really you are a sad cockbreath, a throwback to another time,
a time when safari suits were cool, when hairy beer-gutted dickheads
were okay. when it was good to admit you liked the bee gee's,
abba, and cheesy crappy spam hagar shit.
do me a favor: before you reply, put on 'love walks in',
then 'unchained'. fuck off.Comment

I read Hina's original post, then all of the GREAT, thoughtful, and insightful replies to his question. Then I read Hina's replies.....and have come to the conclusion that Hina DOESNT FUCKING READ or perhaps he does and his brain can't process the information properly. It's also clear that Hina is here just to see how many replies he can get to his lame posts. I don't know if he's trying to be so moronic that his posts elicit a sharp response or if he really is that moronic. It's just one bomb throwing after another with absolutely no consideration or contemplation of the replies he gets.
Dude you like Van Spamgar, we don't. YOU get over it.Comment

Thanks, Generally a Hinder.
You solidify my appreciation and admiration for Classic VH as much as anyone on this board.
Lest we ever forget how smokin' that souped-up hot rod Van Halen was until 1985, you come in here with that 20-year old minivan and remind us all what the alternative is.
With short-sighhted tools like you here, we can never take for granted the awesome power of the Original, Singular, Classic Mighty Van Halen.
You keep the edges of our swords razor sharp. People like you will ultimately fuel an inevitable true reunion with DLR.
The best part is that we can practice slaughtering sheep like you and you come back for more. I'm glad you don't "get it" and never will."Float like a butterfly. Sting like a B-52." - DLR=VH=

you put on "big bad bill"? take a listen to "happy trails", too... there is more of the VH spirit in it than in any hagar tune...Last edited by DavidLeeNatra; 05-07-2004, 10:53 AM.Roth Army Icon

"Big Bad Bill" illustrates just how rockin' VH was. They were kings calling their own shots. They were also showing respect for Jan Van Halen and other musical ancestors.
"Mine all Mine" illustrates how a grown man can't decide what he believes so he simply creates a mish-mash. Decent music, but pretty wishy-washy philosophy.
We never got wishy-washy from Dave."Float like a butterfly. Sting like a B-52." - DLR=VH=

the original lineup was my favorite. since ed and alex wanted
to go in a different direction, sammy was a good addition; he
was not a replacement since it was a new direction for the band.
that is the difference.
the dave era VH was what it was: cutting edge driving rock.
the sam era VH was what it was: ballads and commercially driven.
the cherone album was what it was: a nasty pothole that was
never repaired.
dave sums it up best: winners, they come and go.
legends, they're forever.Comment

Re: The final word on VH, DLR and Sammy
Or, an instrumental band with one singer of sheer genious when it came to concept creation, song interpretation, aggresion, performing arts, the visuals, and the video package.Originally posted by General Hina
The diehard Dave fans really view the first 6 Van Halen CDs as Dave solo CDs or just Dave with a backing band.
Compared to what we've had since from Dave but for a few disks, DLR's been about 50-50 hit and miss: meaning half the time I get a new Diamond Dave CD I'm gonna miss my money, and the other half of the time listening to it Im going to miss the classic VH configuration.
Then I think about the instrumental band and their further choice of singers, get mad about it, and break stuff. Like Dave's latest shit CD.Comment
