It's from the song "Triumph of the Swill" from their last studio album "Bedtime for Democracy" (1986)

The context was that corporations and the government were gaining too much control over the content of music and other forms of media & entertainment.

Considering the sorry state of both music and the corporate media 18 years later, I'd say the song was prophetic.
