I've been reading posts her for some time and never reply . But I just can't help but putting my two cents in on this one. Why do people like Sammy Hagar? Well I look at it like this. When I was 16 dave left Van Halen and Sammy being a somewhat successful solo artist at the time raisd alot of intrest as to the sound that might be produced by the master guitarist like Ed....and a cheesy pop rock lyracyst like Hagar.. But after 5150 came out( I think that was the first album) All it was was Sammy trying to sing word for word what Dave and Ed had already recorded Dave states in his book that 70 percent of the album was already recorded when he left the band. Listen to it... you can clearly hear Sam trying to imitate Dave. It's sickening. The very last track on the cd is standing proof that the entire song had already been laid and masterd and Sam steped in and re recorded it. Classic VanHalen has and will always stand the test of time. Thats because the music has integrity. all the shit Sam has done is just what he is.... a pop rock artist ,cheesy hooks, catchy lyrics , and songs fat old women can sing along too . Lighters held high while hubby goes for a refill on the wine coolers. It's really a shame. The chemistry that Dave And Ed have has gone and will probably always go unmatched. As for Mike ...not the best bassist. But absolutley an intricate part of the classic Van Halen. His background vocals stand out more than Ed's guitar. And you just know they wanted it that way. Without it the music would surely not be the same. When Sam toured with Dave. If Dave would have let Mikey jam with him. It would have sounded exactley like All four of the guys were up there. But Dave was'nt gonna do a half assed reunion like that.Back in 1985 Sam was at the top of his game he had just came off the most successful tour of his pothetic life.
And had alot of top fourty fans .And that's the direction Ed wanted to take it. Dave did'nt . And so there ya go. Now we got Van Halen lite. All the calories but no buzz! After all Ed and Dave modeld the band after Montrose. And right now Ed has no choice . Sam is the only guy who will front the band other than Dave ....after what Gary did. But I would still like to hear Chriss Cornell front the band I think that would be a good choice. Can you imagine a Soundgarden Van Halen mixture. The styles fit. And Ed is a huge Soundgarden fan. But I think we all know that the only true frontman is Dave. He is the shit always has and always will be. Sooner or later ..probably sooner. When the Sammy fiasco wears thin they are not going to have a choice . Ed's gonna have to call Dave. And I'm counting the day's .

I am a huge fan of it as well. You are just too young bro and there is nothing wrong with that. I like all sorts of musical styles. Obviously, VH is at the top of my list.
