From what I gathered, I thought the band broke up in LA in March of 1985 while trying to record an album. The 1984 tour ended in late summer/early fall of 1984, so the idea of Van Halen breaking up while on tour is false.

Plus, why would this guy wait over two decades to tell this story?

Doesn't really matter if he was there or not, but it all smells like bullshit nonetheless.

It's amazing how people find God after they lose all their money. I remember seeing MC Hammer on TBN trying to be a high energy, baptisted styled minister. The problem is MC Hammer didn't know the bible. He was tottaly lost and when he tried to use scripture for an example, he couldn't remember the scripture.

He was like a fish out of water.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

I don't know whether or not this guy ever worked for Van HALEN, and I have no idea about the comic book page account or anything, but it's a definite fact that Van HALEN did NOT break up in the middle of a tour, so there wasn't any "conversation in a hotel room" to be overheard.

Whatever conversation took place was more than likely within 5150 studios, since that is where the band was working - or perhaps not working enough - when Dave decided to leave.
Yes, according to Dave, he spent many hours sitting outside 5150

waiting for Ed to roll out of bed and do some work.
