Eddie Converse! Anyone Know Where I Can Find A Pair?
"This is a pair of size 6 1/2 Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars with the Eddie Van Halen design. These are NOT homemade. These are the real deal. These were obtained from the Converse factory here in Massachusetts when Van Halen was on the OU812 tour. They have never been worn. I have had them proudly displayed in my Mantown for quite some time but I think it's time we part ways - "Happy Trails" so to speak."
wow, i had no idea there was so much hate for Ed out there. Just remember that if it was not for Ed, VH would never have existed.
i did not start this post to ignite an Ed bashing session, I was simply looking for a piece of memorabilia.
That said, at least Ed has kept his outlandish behavior to a bad picture every now and then, and has not run around embarrasing himself by surrounding himself with midgets, making nonsense movies for a million dollars, having a god awful radio show, and making a bluegrass album.
I know that Roth fans feel like they have to take a side, and unfortunately that side usually involves hating on Eddie, but just remember that if it was not for Ed, Dave would be dressed up as a sandwich handing out flyers on Ventura boulevard.
Dude, YOU need to realize that without Dave there would be no Van Halen...Mammoth maybe.
Ed is a shell of what he was and from what I've seen what will be too. Dave is his ONLY salvation. The masses don't care about ANYTHING that doesn't contain Dave with regards to Van Halen anymore.

Not too difficult when you've become an alcoholic recluse...
and has not run around embarrasing himself by surrounding himself with midgets,
Only because they can't reach the bar to pour him another drink...
making nonsense movies for a million dollars,
I'm sure the offers from Hollywood have been flying in for such a bankable star. Everything about Ed these days, from the black teeth to the matted hair, just positively SCREAM "Leading Man."
having a god awful radio show
Nope...just a God awful abortion of a tour in 2004. At least Dave's radio show didn't cost people any of their hard earned money.
and making a bluegrass album.
And the problem with that would be????

And if it were not for Dave, Ed would never have been pushed to the stratosphere of fame, power, and influence that would enable you to make comments like that.
I still love Ed too, man. But you can't respect what he's done to himself and his legacy.
