Rise & Catherine

I'm sure that all of you had heard that Eddie Van Halen has released two new songs to be used in the motion picture "Sacred Sin". Sacred Sin apparently is a porn movie by some famous porn director. Anyway, I found both of these two genius works of art and I have them saved to my I-tunes and have burned them to a CD so I can have them forever; they bother are simply just amazing. If anyone has any interest in hearing this two songs, they have surfaced on the internet. All you do is find a site that hosts the track and then save it like you would on the vhboots section of this website. If you have any trouble finding these two songs and you want some help, feel free to post up a reply on this thread and I will either find the link where I got them from or I will email you the two tracks.

Can't seem to find a way to click on the area on Michael Ninn's website to hear "CATHERINE" ????? any hint on how to hear this tune?


No matter what, if ED is doing anything creative other than consuming Smoking Loon, since you have to be somewhat coherent to put out a song....I'm all for it.

ED - "RISE" is a sidestep project, like Dave's 'Strummin w/the Devil" and it's all artistic.........

I'll locate the site where I downloaded and saved both of these tracks and I will post it up. I probably won't post it up today (July 30th, 2006) but I will get it up here in a few days or so.

And yes you can be loaded on Smoking Loon and play that crap.

The video looked kind of cool, the playing was shit.

It's heavy sustain and I think flange. Helps to hide the fuckups.

I also liked the video....to each his own. Perhaps I did like the song "RISE" as I realized I was sipping Cabernet when I heard it.....and never heard the fcukups. :p

Ummmm... Regarding said "fuckups" there truly aren't any musically, at least in that little clip. Perhaps the aforementioned and prior poster was referring to that gawwwd awful picnic or flower impromptu "jam" cos that was completely off the mark? Cos Ed did suck there. What I got from his "guitaring" in the porn clip was his abuse and beyond overdose of the sustain. Fuck Ed and his new toggleswitch. lmao. That's shit's fine as a song fades out but to base an entire instrumental on it is pathetic. Especially and considering what talent Edward once posessed on that fretboard.

Frankly, after hearing that garbage, I'm frightened to imagine what Edward is infact capable of playing when it comes to a lead or a fill. The "riff" for that track was soooooooo basic but lazy. Sounded like he's ready to "pick up" with Hagar with that crap.

Somehow it seems both horribly wrong and perfectly reasonable at the same time. Maybe it's the just the dark atmosphere of the movie, but seeing/hearing Eddie playing on this feels a little sad and kinda creepy.

As far as the music itself...meh. They're not awful, but they're not really that good either. I definitely think Catherine is the better of the two. I can almost see the porn through the music :D
