Actually? There was an interview with Dave that was
done apparently fairly recently and just ran in a European
magazine, (the interview took place at Hotel Mondrian as
I recall,) in which Dave says very specifically that "It's About
Time" was a song they were working on during the first
greatest hits album. He and VH, I mean.
There was also an interview with Sam posted, where HE claimed
the songs were ones that HE was working on with VH when they
brought Dave in. Everybody's claiming bragging rights on those
three... THREE songs.
So what's funny is, when asked about the TWO songs, Sam has
said they were crap. Uneventful. Whatever it was he said.
So either he found his own songs uneventful, (a moment of
honesty shining through?) or else he's riding on Dave's coattails
with "It's About Time" which I would assume either wasn't up
to snuff in Dave's opinion, (and the record company seems to
agree,) or else, this song is just a gem that no one seems to
have the proper auditory gonads to appreciate.
But anyway, yes, Dave himself has said that "It's About Time"
was HIS song. So, that part isn't so far-fetched.
