I never viewed VH as a band that took heavy drugs. They just seemed like guys who drank A LOT and smoked the occassional joint. Unlike Crue, STP, G & R, Keith Richards, etc... Am I way off on this? I just can't picture any of them shooting up or chopping rails out every night. (Except for present day EVH)

Dave did mention on Howard Stern that he went to rehab for cocain addiction but Dave didn't elaborate on it. I think Dave just shakes his head at all the BS celebrities spill after they get out of rehab.
I think the guys in Van Halen probably had more demons than they let on. Alex was a tottal wreak during the Van Hagar era and Eddie is a wreak now.
Addiction is addiction. A bad alcoholic is as bad of a fuckup as a herione or meth addict. It just takes longer to ruin you. I bet alcohol has killed more people and ruined more famiies and lives than the harder shit has.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

In "The Dirt", Vince Neal said that he'd do coke with Roth in his old apartment. Goth would sit infront of a giant pile, and just snort it all day. One time a mirror or something fell on his head, and roth didn't miss a beat, or notice.Served hot, right from the rhythm kitchen.Comment

I don't doubt the coke story but 'The Dirt' is so full of lies it's like reading an Agatha Christie book. In just about every chapter they all come out with different lies and contradicting stories about everything. The funniest of all is Tommy Lee's account of how Pam Anderson attacked him by repeatedly hitting his fist with her face...
