Seeing a "legendary guitarist" playing a synthesizer is not enough to get me to a Van Hagar show. Paying hard earned money to Bush supporters like Hagar and Clear Channel is even more reason NOT to go.

Believe me, I see the points that you are all trying to make. I'm an Eddie fan. I'm even a bigger fan of classic Van Halen. I don't back up MOST of the decisions that any of the members of Van Halen have made. But I do enjoy music. Most importantly, I'm not a fleeting fan of either Dave or Eddie. I've loved both since I first heard VH and VHII when I was eleven years old in 1981. Like I said, I wasn't there to hear the arguments. I can't be biased to either one. It's kinda like having 2 friends of yours who are fighting. Do you take sides and shun one of 'em? Doubtful.
Did I go to a Cherone show? No. Why? Cuz it didn't come around. I definitely would have gone just to hear Eddie wail on those classic Diamond Dave era songs. I would have been totally turned off by a lead singer copping a reach around on himself. I would've watched Eddie and dealt with it.
VH3 songs would have been the bathroom and beer breaks.
I don't knock you guys for ONLY liking Dave...so it's unfair for you to knock me for appreciating Ed's talents.
I never said I was "ecstatic" about the prospects of a Van Hagar show. I would rather it be Dave...but for now, it is what it is. I think things will change eventually, and yes you can bet your ass I'll be the first one online to buy the best seats I can when it does.

A lot of us dont ONLY like Dave. But most of us HATE Spammy. Spammy is annoying enough for me not to go along and see one of my childhood heroes. (Not that its likely to come to our country anyway, they had trouble selling out small theatres last time around)
Ive got the CD's if I need to hear EVH at his best. I also know one day I will get to see a full Original Van Halen concert, somehow, someway.
(If not Live, on DVD)
I can wait. Ive been waiting a long time now. Another year or so aint going to make any difference.
If you want to endorse EVH and his "fuck you" to the original fans, hey man, thats your choice.
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow ! Love ya Mary Frances!

I walked out on them in '93 when my brother scored us free tix and NEVER looked back. I'm just glad that seeing Dave in the summer of 1994 made up for it.
I saw VH only once in 1984. That says it all. However, I did attend both the 5150 and 0U812 tours but I went to ANY show back then. Mediocre rock concerts at best. They sucked then and they've somehow improved rather than deteriorated? Now, at my age a big FUCK NO!!!!
BTW. Again, how big is the dolly to haul the round rocker on stage? :p

I agree wholeheartedly, however it may not be wise to have THAT discussion on this web site. They will call you a sheep. I guess you could be a black sheep like me... I think there are more of us here than will ever admit it.
