Van Hagar Newspaper Ads

Ok....nobody does that. You post a full page ad in every local newspaper a day before tickets go on sale, then ads disappear from papers.

Why would Van Hagar do that?

What's the idea here???

Is it because they want to see how many tickets they sell without advertising?

Is it because they haven't sold many seats yet?

Neither answer seems right to me. What do we think, ROTH FANS? (Only)

Shit theres a show literally five minutes from me at the HP PAvilion in San Jose, and I've barely heard shit about it. Guess they thought demand was gonna be through the roof, based on the Van Halen name alone. Uh sorry Ed, you got the wrong guy if ya wanted a MEGA tour. Look for Van Hagar to scramble around at the last minute pushing the shows. WHat a fucking liar Spammy is, "Shows have sold out in minutes".

It's like I said above...I've been going to concerts for 20 years now, and I've NEVER seen a band post an ad, then NOTHING in following editions. NOTHING. Unless a band has sold out (and even then), why would they NOT post anymore ads?

yeah, spammy's ego is through the roof! i also remember seeing him wearing a t-shirt that said "I EAT'EM RAW"...an obvious reference to "eat'em & smile"...the shit head egomanic that he is. it's obvious that he hasn't looked in a mirror lately, or else if he did he was smashed from too much tequila. otherwise there's no way possible that he would have the ego that he has.

Nothing should surprise you about this band, or these guys. what are some possibilities.

Maybe Van Hagar wants to see how tickets sell with Spam before caving in and giving David whatever money or whatever else it is that is standing between him and Ed to save their arses.

Maybe the lack of ads actually increases the interst? (Have you seen their pic?)


Maybe after the MTV fiasco David will not allow them to use his name to promote this tour until he is sure that things are going to work out between him and the band. Additionally, I keep reading things about how "Dave is in LA". I dont know if there is truth to that or not-but...Van Halen is coming out with a new album. WE know this is true. Dave only had two songs on the last one. And they were both amazingly good stuff, different... ya know... I just wonder how many he will have on this one. Then when they release the music, everyone will KNOW Dave is back with Van Halen and they wont have to waste the money on advertising. And they could still pull it off to save the majority of the shows. Tickets can sell out like that (*snap*).
Also, that would save Dave any public humiliation from another failed reunion attempt. Plus, I don't think the fans would remain loyal through more shenanigans like that one.

But still, I think I will wait just a little longer to buy my ticket.
