Van Halen with Roth and up through the DLR Band, David Lee Roth was the greatest frontman period. I don't even get excited anymore when he comes on tour. Big fucking deal. It's depressing watching his career dwindle into nothing. Basically what i'm saying is... If Dave doesn't get back in Van Halen I could fucking care less at this point. If I happen to be walking past a seven eleven and his band is playing there... I'll stop for a couple minutes... and put a buck in DLR's tip cup.
I think it's time we all face reality, and realize that there will never be a Van Halen reunion... all we will get is a Rock N' Roll Hall of fame song or two... and then fuck em'...I got the albums the bootlegs... back when David Lee Roth was at godlike status... I have no urge to listen to his voice deteriorate any further... and I think i'll cry when he can no longer do anymore kicks!

Van Halen with David Lee Roth was hands down, the greatest Rock N' Roll band of all time! Now they are nothing but a fucking parody of their former selves, David Lee Roth went from losing Eddie Van Halen... to Steve Vai... to Jason Becker... to several other second rate musicians... and now almost a fucking karaoke band.

I'd also like to thank Dave for keeping me wait over 8 years and countin' for an ORIGINAL recorded studio album. I'd like to have a new fucking album before he is SIXTY YEARS OLD!!! Alex Van Halen is the biggest douchebag to ever walk this earth! I swear to god... everytime I see him and his BIG FUCKING NOSE... I want break his fucking neck again! Eddie Van Halen too... What the fuck happened to him... the guy has clearly lost all his talent and can't even create a decent riff anymore... I don't have the time to watch him drink himself to death anymore.... as his fucking face caves in!!!

He looks like a cross between Mr. Furley and one of the California Raisins!!!

five years ago you could have said "who gives a fuck about motley Crue" but now they're back bigger than ever, due to proper promotion and an origanal line up.

Van Halen with Roth would generate a lot of interest.

Roth solo - well, looking at the sales of Dave's last two albums and the sizes of the venues he plays in nowadays, seems pretty obvious that he doesn't have many who are interested in what he's doing anymore.

The Diamond Dave CD and Van Strumming weren't of much interest to me, and there is a sameness to his live work of recent years. All I pretty much expect when I see Dave live now is to have a good time. Am no longer expecting or anticipating to see a show that is one of the best I've ever seen when I catch Dave now, but that's fine. It's just a fun experience, and I'm gonna see as many shows as I can these days, because pretty soon he may well stop...

I mean, the show I saw a few weeks ago, the band was playing Panama, and during the post-guitar solo part where it sounds like a car is revving up, Dave was goofing around with Brian, and doing the revving part with his voice and a lot of reverb; at one point he turned his back to the mic, then turned around and did the noise - it sounded like a car whizzing by on a racetrack - and I laughed, turned to the wife and said "This guy is like a living cartoon."

Van Halen without Dave is a straight shot to Nowheresville. Dave solo is what it is now. If I think about what CVH used to mean to me (and still does), and how big Classic Van Halen was and Dave was when he first went solo, then yes, the current state of affairs is kinda sad. I get more bummed seeing what Ed has let himself lapse into than with what Dave has done since the 1996 debacle gave his career a second wind (let's face facts here - Roth in early 1996 was showing all the signs of being washed up, commercially speaking)...

....I dunno. Dave was able to take what was a pretty shitty experience in 1996 and use it and the publicity from the fallout to get a book published, put out a SMOKIN' album in 1998, and hit the road for the first time in nearly half a decade...I was kinda with him all the way through the Bar-B-Que, and even the Sam and Dave tour (although Dave was looking kinda silly far as the stage clothes and hair went on that tour)...the Diamond Dave CD and Van Strumming, well...think Dave just realizes he's not gonna be putting out any more platinum albums under his name anymore, regardless of the content, and he's only gonna sell so many seats as a solo act...so he's just doing what he wants to do. It's a take it or leave it kinda deal.
