I took 10 bucks from a hagarita...

ok...I was sitting at a 0.5/1$ limit table at partypoker playing texas hold em...there comes a guy from canada at the table with a stack of 15 $...his name was "fasteddieVH"...sounds familiar, I thought and gave him a warm welcome with a "long live the mighty VH" hello...which he replied with a "ty"

of course my next question was "roth or hagar"...and...the fucker wrote "hagar"...already regretting my warm welcome I said "you'll pay for that..."

and he did...lost all his money in less than 30 minutes...whenever he fucked up a hand I said "the hagar curse" and he started to become a bit...say...upset...and played more and more aggressive...so he lost about 10 $ against me and the rest against some other players...left with nothing...couldn't resist to type dave's famous "don't let the backdoor hit ya..."-quote when he left...

I've asked that question before at tables to break the ice (Party Poker or Paradise Poker). VH...Roth or Hagar? 99.9999% is for Roth.

Tell me about it. I've lost to some hand where the other player had no business still being in. Almost as if they knew what the turn & river would bring. I never have more than $30 in my account and just fuck around once in a while. If you try to do it to make money, you are gonna be in sad shape.

no problem...they teased me in by giving me 150$ (for free, I just had to answer some quiz)...that's the money I gamble with...if it's gone...so am I...

Well obviously they wouldn't give you that if it didn't make money for them so there must be a hell of a lot of people without the discipline to walk away to pay for what they lose on people like you.

There are millions of people playing online poker these days and ignoring all the general dangers of running up horrendous debts I just wanted to point out there is a lot of scamming going on out there.

If you join a table of 6 people and 4 are working together statistically you are fucked.

As regards bots think on it this way. Would you play chess online for money? In your case I'm sure it was a real person but there are people out there running teams of virtual players from their PCs with a degree of AI so that they can even chat.

The best defence is playing low stakes but it's still a mugs game. If this sounds far fetched it isn't. In any case you only need to look at the incredible lengths people have gone to in the past to try and beat casinos.

Word to the wise don't play online poker with your own money.
