Eddie,Alex and Wolfie rehearse two nights a week, Wed. and Sat. without Dave. Dave does not need to be there till the tour gets closer, Wolfie is the one that will need this extra time. Live Nation 35 dates as per William Morris. As per Eddie's publisist and girlfriend Janie summer tour, concert being sold to promoters IS with Dave. He is not going to tell the world about a VH reunion on a sidewalk in New York. After the firs of the year they will let everyone know Dave was being coy..... Hang in there. When I said after the first of the year, I mean to say no exact date but Im sure by the time the RRHOF takes place we will all know the facts.

I'm not writing this to bash you and there are going to be those who proclaim to have all the answers to the wacky world of Van Halen as we know it!

You certainly have to take everything this band says and does with a grain of salt. Having said that, I do know along with everyone else is, Edward Van Halen did say he was working on new material with Alex and Wolfie in the studio. Ed's contradicted himself before but he sounded serious on the Howard Stern show about the band moving forward. That's really the only confirmation we have that includes his son and Alex. He didn't confirm Dave at that time but it's obvious who'll be singing in the near future. There's also no reason to believe they wouldn't want to jam to some new music on the tour. The new music may not be released before the tour but much like 2004 they did play the new tunes for everyone. Those songs made it to the best of but they barely had lyrics ready for the tunes before the hit the road. Eddie's had plenty of time to work on new music and it wouldn't take Dave long to put vocals on the tracks. He did that in 1996 and he's much more prepared and vocally ready this time so that's another reason why it would work for the new material. I can see Ed, Wolfie and Alex jamming but Ed gets bored quickly like he's always said and getting fresh ideas from Dave might also work this time for the new stuff. Again, Ed said there was new music, it wasn't a rumor started by anyone, Ed himself confirmed it. Until Ed says otherwise, there will be new music and a tour. I cannot see Dave wanting to tour as a Best Of particularly without all original members and the payday that would bring. I think Dave would be much more interested in new music and proving to the music world that Van Halen can move forward and he would gain some credit based on his own artistic ability once again! Dave has always been about creativity and new ideas and what a great opportunity this has presented itself and what a fortunate circumstance Dave finds himself in again with Eddie and Alex and a new member to Van Halen. Dave hears the baby steps this time and he’s taking that to heart this time!
