We travelled 5 hours to calgary and checked into our hotel. Smoked some ganj, drank jack and kokanee. just gettin ready for the show. We hit the club at 9:30 to catch the end of the opening act (they were quit good. Not sure what the name of the band was). Cowboys is defenitly a small venue. I couldnt imagine thier being more than 600 people thier. Once the opening act was done and dave was just about to go on, two DJ's came on introducing dave and they both said that it was great that we could get this "last chance" to see dave in a small venue before he hit the saddledome (Calgary's Arena) next year...hmm?

No one I went with were huge fans of dave. They were familliar with his songs (mostly due to me playing his tunes all the time) and were open minded about the show, but not too excited like I was. It was a typical dave show that anyone has seen on this tour. Dave knocked everyones dick in the dirt last night people. I havent seen so many people getting into a concert in my life. Standard set of this tour.

Everyone was into it but I was the exception and dave knew it. I drew quit the crowd myself by SCREAMING every sylable of every song and just partying hard. I started all the chants, screams and dances. Everyone saw just how into it I was and everyone around me had thier arms around me singin dancin and drinkin. We were all blood brothers for 2 hours. The kicker is that at the end of Jump, right after the baton twirling, my friend told me that now is the chance to push our way to the front row. He knows that dave has been my idol all my life and I needed to be right up front for atleast a few seconds. What shocked me is everyone let me up front (them takin the back seat) cuz it was pretty apparent I was the biggest fan in the building. Dave knew it too because as soon as I got up front I stuck my hand out, he looked at me, and shook my hand with that Dave smile that everyone knows and loves. I was the only person in the audience that night that got the honour of that hand shake. That was when A tear hit my eye. It was surreal for a 20 year old to look the man in the eye and shake his hand. He trully looked apreciative of my efforts to make this as good of a show for him as he did for us. He didnt shake anyone elses hand but mine...I guess I just feel special. LMAO.

One last thing that was awesome about the show, dave downed half a bottle of JD and was much tipsier than ussual. At one point in the show he started to ramble a little bit and asked the crowd if he should stop drinking. All of us with a deffining roar shouted no!

Best concert ive ever been too. Im sorry if my review is a bit disoriented and sloppy. Im just too excited to put it any other way.
By the way, all of my friends that werent really fans at all went out and baught a CVH CD the next morning...goes to show.

My life is now complete!

When I was at the show I talked to a group of people about being from saskatchewan. Dylan must have been amongst that group. The thing is they were all quit friendly with me... So now im a fag?
