Did Dave Drop his Lawsuit because he is being given a cut of the tour ?

I Know this sounds unlikely,

But perhaps Dave has been consulted about the Van Hagar tour
and has been offered a cut for using his songs for promotions,
and for his songs being performed on the tour....
Plus a renewed royalty deal for the Best of Album.

This could explain his silence and the dropped lawsuit

PanaMark, I'm glad you brought this up. Whattttts up on this deal with Dave dropping the lawsuit! Everyone that knows anything in the music biz knows Eddie & Alex are dry f--king the hell of Dave re due payments and back royalty interest dilution!

I also know that CCC and WMG has David "waiting in the wings", if Sammy f--ks up on this Van Spammy Tour or sales don't pick up, and CCC/WMG have the decision making control of this Tour, not Eddie and Alex......aka "Neil and Bob" cause that's what they dooooooo - DLR

I think he dropped the lawsuit because he was going to lose.

It may be unfair that 'the bass player is/was getting more money per album than him but legally I don't think Roth had a case.

From my law degree(at least what I can rememeber of it) he wouldn't have had here anyway....

Thx bro for the info.. I have a buddy in the legal dept for Sony Music that's a big VH-Roth fan..I will contact him and see if he know why Roth is getting screwed over so bad on this deal...Your're probably right may be just another "dumb musician" thing.

As I understand it the other 3 band members renegotiated their deal on the first six albums with Warner as part of their extending their contract for further Van Hagar albums.

Since Roth was no longer part of the band or working for WB then it would be irrelevant to Roths contractual position that the record company were willing to give up some of their % to increase the royalty paid to the Van Halen brothers and MA.

That's how I see it anyhoo...
