However, I disagree with you on the DLR band Bob, I think it's a stella record all the way through, probably my fave after EEAS. True, with a record label behind it, it could have done much, much better.

You can make the best record in the world, but if no-one hears it, so what?
Pretty much what I'm getting at, actually. A good record on it's own account, I suppose, but it lacks in production quality and nobody even knew it was out...

Dave was in the news then, he could have cut a deal with Sony or even CMC or somebody...with a label behind it, it really could have helped to kickstart him a bit and bring him back into the spotlight, as a performer. Van Halen 3 bombing and Hagar putting out piles of dog crap was the perfect opportunity, but he just didn't really follow through with it.
    Twistin' by the pool.

Personally I don't think he is making a good career move if he is going out with the Sisters and that fat kid.

He needs to insist on bassplayer being in on the tour.

How are we terming a successful career move?

        $$$$$

        or

        Credibility?

Going on tour with the Sisters and Wolfie would bring $$$£, and publicicty and is therfore a good career move to some. But to others it lacks credibiilty without Mike (my personal view)

For others, putting out a decent record, a creible one, but fucking up on the promotion angle was a bad career move.

I guess its all subjective, huh?

          His biggest mistake was Skyscraper.

Piece of fucking crap. I've had long-term relationships that ended badly that I'm less bitter about it.

Did he really Fuck AHV's wife?? WTF!
                What an asshole.
Dave's solo career led him down the wrong path. His ego got in the way. Some of his tunes were great others were shit.
He should have never quit VH, Like they would can him??

haha if he insists mike be there, he'll be out of a tour again. i am willing to bet that 96 was mostly his fault and 2000 too.... although i read an article with MA saying his voice was too rough..

i think at this point dave just better suck it up and say, "yes sir," give the fans what they want, and make a shitload of green
